I've been browsing several Transformers movie boards, and I was bothered. Many of you seem to have misunderstood the leaked OP pics with his mouth. Many of you have said his face is very long, and very baboonish. His face is not long or baboonish in any way. I will explain:



Many believe the highlighted area is Prime's mouth. This is not so. If this is his mouth, when the faceplate slides up, what is the plate protecting? His upper lip? If this was his mouth, he would have a mouth when his faceplate is slid up, and nothing is more stupid than Prime having a giant metal goatee. This "mouth" is the crease where the lower-middle section of the fceplate slides up from the bottom of his chin.





The highlighted area of Primes face is where his mouth is. In the very center of that yellow box you can clearly see his closed mouth. Though it is a little small, thats's where it is. Note: everyone at the screening of the movie said Prime's mouth was "odd." Those two black half circles surrounding his mouth are muscle-like structures. If his mouth was where you thought it was, his mouth would look like a cheap puppet, and wouldn't be able to emote as well. His mouth does look a little shriveled up, but it kinda is going with the movie style. And with that, he is the most handsome non-mouthless Transformer in the movie! So take back those insults about him looking like a baboon, and insult the designers for making him look like an old man!

Maybe I just missed it but I don't recall this being a big issue on this particular forum.

Even if his mouth is higher-up it still looks like ass.

It may not be an issue here, but at tfw, dm.net, and the official movie board, there are several threads devoted to destroying Michael Bay for allowing this.

Those of us on this board who have angst towards the designs are limiting it to Starscream and Megatron's designs and the general consensus is that Prime is the one TF in the new movie whose design is the closest to original G1 of all of them.

But, at the same time, if what you are saying is the mouth is the mouth then I still don't quite see it (perhaps I will if this design is in the movie and I see him talking without the faceplate). But, at this moment, I really don't care either way about Prime's design given the previously stated debate over SS and Megs.

its the opening is highlighted. its the thing that looks like a sideways, metallic vagina....with teeth!

All they have to do with screamers is put some of the weight on his arms to his legs.

Knew that already....but i dint knew the EXACT location of the mouth...

So now, instead of looking like a horse, he looks like he just ate the world's most sour candy?

Prime should not have a mouth. ever. period.

I disagree. looking at the shape of the face and the postioning of things your way off. Your claiming the mouth to be to close to the nose, and giving it a huge chin. Talking with a co-worker that does CGI modeling professionally where you put the mouth doesn't fit the proper proportions for the head. Also as he explained from a puppeteering perspective there is no way the mouth could be that high up. It would mean it would be using the base of the nose as the upper lip.

Attached is a rough version of what was shown to me. I used see it as you did. Now I know the facts. From all things CGI/Movie/Puppetry there is no possible way what you have as the mouth can be the mouth. Simple body mechanics prove you wrong.[/i]

Are the images being used to illustrate the argument even final renderings or are they just concept art from some stage of production? Because, if it's the latter, this argument is completely retarded.

It is the first images of his face, so it is the latter and I do agree with your statement of it being the latter.

I'm trying to find a mouth in that jumbled piece of crap they call Prime. I'm also trying to say that he doesn't look like a baboon, he looks like a metal vagina.
