Okay, I was walking in Walmart today, when it suddenly dawned on me where I've seen the new Movie Prime's paint job before. Here's Optimus:

And here is where I've seen the same paint job before:

Now this got me thinking. I know NASCAR teams have gotten together with movie promoters and have run their cars with special paint jobs made specifically to advertise for the movies.

With Prime and Gordon's paint jobs being so similiar, is it conceivably possible that Paramount/Hasbro may seek out a sponsorship deal to help promote the movie?

Also, keep in mind that the Pepsi 400 at Daytona is the closest race to the movie premiere....

i doubt it...a flame paint job is just a flame paint job...prime HAS to be red and blue, i think its just a coincidence

Ditto. I doubt the designers were sitting around watching NASCAR and saw Jeff Gordon's car and said, "Hey, what if we made Prime look like that?"

I guess you guys missed what I'm trying to say. It's not that Prime is based on Gordon's car, it's that since they have similiar paint jobs, I was wondering if Paramount might try to advertise the movie through Nascar.

It's happened before, I remember a couple of years ago Joe Gibbs Racing had Tony Stewart and Bobby Labonte run special paint schemes for the movie Small Soldiers.

Also, several Chevy teams ran special paint schemes when Looney Tunes: Back in Action came out.

I lost interest in Nascar after Rusty Wallace retired, but I think I remember seeing special paint jobs on some cars advertising the movie Cars.

But then if Nascar had anything to do with the Transformers movie, we would have heard about it long ago.
