The Hollywood Reporter has reported from the Metrodome Distribution that one of the theaters in London’s West End will be showing the 1986, Transformers: The Movie. The animated movie will run for two weeks starting May 4th. The movie is being re-launched in order to tie into the "high level of interest from fans of the Transformers brand in anticipation of this summer's Michael Bay blockbuster," Metrodome said.

And the piggybacking doesn't stop there. Metrodome also said it hopes that the theatrical run will help publicize the release of the double-disc DVD of "Transformers: The Movie -- Ultimate Edition," which hits shelves June 4.

Thats great news!!! Transformers seems to be putting a lot of money into advertising and I think its important to spread the word.

Wish they would do the same here in U.S too. I would love to see the 1986 movie in the big screen again. :)

Why wont they do that in the US? And i dont mean in a few places. Im sure most big theaters can spare at least one screen for a few weeks. God damn movies.

It makes sense that they'd do it. Metronome admits it's being done as a tie-in to the live action counterpart, and it's a good idea. It's like Megatron Wolf said; it'd be a good idea. Only reason I'd personally pass on seeing it in theaters is that I've already got 2 copies of it on DVD.

Great voice. It's the last movie that Orsen Wells ever did.

I saw the Sony remastered release of TF:TM on a mate's 28" TV a couple of months back. It looked brilliant. I think if I got to see Lithone being devoured in that visual quality on a cinema screen (last time I saw it in a cinema I was four) I'd actually have a heart attack.
