ok i was over at IMDB just reading out of boredom....

Bumblebee comes up against Megatron on Cybertron before he leaves, and Megatron tears out his vocal processor, it's in the prequel comic. Bumblebee, before being able to be repaired, goes in pursuit of Megatron who's taken off after the Allspark, so he's not fully repaired.

Yeah, Meg ripped BB vocal prosessor out. I haven't read the prequal comics but that's what is explained in the leaked script. As far as I understand from reading the script and the prequal novel however, the Autobots don't seemed to be equipped enough to repair Bumblebee at all. In the novel he has a small device he uses to speak with, but it gets smashed during a battle.
