He got so stealthy from the Allspark, we must have missed him in the last third of the movie. At least the Target "Allspark Power" box seems to imply that.

This is the only teal-covered Target Exclusive i'll take to the bank. Seeing as Barricade never died, than perhaps his bio is canon.

But Jazz and Brawls Teal-covered decos can't truly explain how they're both living after one of them got ripped apart, and the other got shot more than he could shoot back.

If you're being sarcastic...That Optimus Prime was a whole different character, and the whole point is they brought an Optimus Prime back anyway for the next line and the next and so on.

When is this Barricade supposed to come out?? I bet after the holidays....

Yes, these are probably the line of post-holiday toys. Most holiday toys are out by November or they don't come out until after Chirstmas. With this being the first leaked image, we can't expect to see them for a month at least I'd guess.

Yes, in fact that leaked script treatment for the second TF movie (which may or may not be very accurate to the finished product) had Scorponok returning.

I don't think you can prove Barricade is dead. If you go by the movie's faq page on imdb.com, he disappears after the freeway scene. Of course, they say there's an explanation for this in the novel, but why didn't this appear in the movie? The faq also says the writers hint at Barricade coming back for the next movie...

Well, we can't say for sure if he will be back in the next movie or not, rumours are not much to go on, and writers do enjoy messing with people.

As for the toy, I kinda like the blue face, but I aint so keen on the rest of him. I hope he does return, but if he does he best look better than that

Interesting power up, but the other Allspark power Decepticons will make fun of him.

"What power did you get from the Allspark, Barricade?"

"Well... it just made me really quiet..."

This debate is one more reason I cannot wait for TF2..
It may finally put to rest Barricade's true fate since the lines seem evenly divided.

As far as I know, Barricade only died in that comic.


For the movie they decided not to kill him off, and so removed the scene that had him killed.

And about Scorponok, all that I saw was his tail, so that kinda confirms what you guys said.

I didnt see him fight anyone and never saw him die, and even if he is not in the 2nd film he could still show up in TFTM III.

I kinda doubt they killed him off without showing it.

Actually by definition they are, as both are officially licensed, but it is more accurate to say the comics and the movie are not always the SAME.

Barricade was depicted as dying right after Bonecrusher in the comics and novel. His death scene was removed from the film. The kids novel "Meet the Decepticons" had Barricade survive and leave the planet after loosing the fight for the allspark. The tech specs had Barricade survive and get an allspark upgrade to his body, resulting in super-stealth powers. All are official.

The fact there are so many different spins on what did or didn't happen is exactly why all these writer-type people would get on the same page and have their stories match up. Not likely gonna happen since the events of the G1 comic didn't always match up with the animation either, just my wishful thinking.
