Prime vs Bonecrusher was the best visual effect? It must have been a tough decision to pick one if that's the one they pick.

Compositing is when they combine certain effects and images to form one like for the Transformers 2007 movie placing optimus prime out on the middle of the highway, pretty much any optical effect that does not already exist.

It could also mean a phaser blast from the Enterprise, they combine the effect to match up with the effect of the physical model if one was used.

The guys who vote on these things are some of the biggest "film" geeks in the world, and if they're willing to overlook that this is a terrible movie, then you can bet that it will probably win it all.

Was it a bad movie? I guess I was too distracted by the awful effects.

Poor ILM, I think they were on vacation whne they were assigned this movie, and they let the interns do it.

They seem to have fogotten one of the basic rules of special effects, the best special effects are the effects that the audience doesn't notice. Nowadays, you get heads floating on clone troopers, spinning and twirling robots that glittler and gleam and lack any sense of weight and gravity, and horribly animated lips on a robot. All of which conspire to make one heck of a headache!! I mean... movie.

I-)
