In the April 9, 2007 issue of "Time" magazine, at the bottom of pg. 129, there is a "Sneak Peek" short article about the upcoming TF movie and a screen shot of BumbleBee's face!

"Transform This
In summer, grownups gladly pay to see what used to be considered kids' stuff. (Ever heard of Pirates of the Caribbean, Spider-Man or Shrek?) TRANSFORMERS, thosse '80s playthings, are getting an adult makover. Exhibit A is the new Bumble Bee, right, once a toy, but in action director Michale Bay's hands, a much more looming presense. And this one's a good guy."

Here's a link to a scan of the article... hopefully!

80's playthings................

Time magazine should stick to the usual mundane dull "reality" where "normal people" live... like... self help books, and Learning Annex.

People need to stop getting so emotionally hurt when they are reminded that transformers are toys and yes they are "80's playthings"

True. However, I do see Mr.RobotAutoMan's point. The Transformers do, as anything else would in the same situation, seem to transcend the simple label of "...kids' stuff..." when all this fandom, if you will, is out there. Toys, cartoons, movies, clothing, etc. certainly add to the defense of these being more than just "...80's playthings..." Phenomenon? A continuing one at least.

By the way, I laughed out loud at your name! 1Big"F"ingRayOfSunshine... brilliant! ;)^ :))

I just watched The Beastmaster the other night, so now when I think of "80s Playthings" I think of Tanya Roberts.
