It took me a while to figure out why the TF movie was opening so late (July 28th) in the UK. I only recently twigged that it's to coincide with the start of the English school holidays. July 4th has similar significance in the US (ie everybody wants to go to the pictures). Anybody know what's shaking in the Phillipines at the end of June?

Hi Nick,
Nope, there's nothing happening at the end of June here. Though classes would have started by then.

Do you know if they are using the Philippines to test market the movie? And what is like collecting Transformers in the Philippines? Are there a lot of Takara or Hasbro Transformers? Are they expensive? Are there a lot of KOs?
Thanks for the welcome
I hope to post more news here (at least from Philippines) on TFs and others. As to whether or not they are testing the Philippine market, we're not sure. Anything is possible at this point. Japan is scheduled for late August.
Supply of TFs isn't as consistent and abundant as that of the US. We normally get Hasbro toys, but we had, at one time, got the Takara Beast Wars 2 figures.
Worse case we would get our stuff from specialty stores or from group buys in case someone goes abroad. But the distributor here would sometimes surprise the market with some toys that weren't released yet in the US, like the Classics Deluxe Two-Packs.
FYI, the Classics Deluxes sell in malls here for Php 700 (around USD14). The Classics Deluxe two-packs sold here for Php 1200 (around USD24). Hope this helps.
