Three Movies Isn't Enough!

I feel Transformers needs at least five movies. Afterall, they wasted all the storytelling time in TF1 on pointless subplots and human characters.

If the Transformers movie franchise is going to be truly epic and complex, I think they need more than three movies.

What do all of you think? Have any of you heard proposals for more than three movies?

Man don't overthink it, TFs will move forward well into the future with a full line of straight to DVD films with numbers ranging into the double didgets.

Keep in mind there will be some retellings, revisitings, new old styles and all that crap...

Transformers have etched a mark in pop culture same as BatMan, Spider-Man or Eltro & Guardian Wing.

They aren't going anywhere, and when the movie style has s\run it's course, it'll be renewed in a retro fashion again.

Look at Justice League, a recent series turing into a brand new DVD Movie from yesteryear...

Before ypou know it, we'll have a revamped TransMorphers Transformers movie straigt to "Hulurarjectorphone Sklindarf" (yes, tomorrows techonlogy tomorrow)

Absolutely, without a doubt must disagree. Anything over three movies is just begging for direct to video, with that kind of quality.

I enjoyed the first film, but I must admit, under repeat viewings, it doesn't hold up as well as it initially did. Once the oohs and the ashs wore off, I realized it wasn't quite up to the gold standard I was holding it to. (NOTE: I'm still pro movie. That hasn't changed, I just realize it's terribly imperfect.)

I will enjoy the second movie, I'm sure. However...if the leaked cast listing is real, then we're going to have more pointless humans to deal with and again, less screen time for the namesakes of the film.

By the third one, I'd become so disenchanted by it all, I wouldn't want a fourth one.

I was okay until Transform And Rollout aired. Once I saw what a cartoon was capable of doing flawlessly in 67 minutes, where a 2.5 hour live action film had failed (in many points, but not all) just shook me to my TF core.

I realized that all of the window dressing that Hollywood demands...ruins the charm and overall impact that TFs are meant to have. Deep? No. Ground breaking? No. But the movie is too Hollywood for my taste. I enjoy the cartoon so much more because it's actually intelligent, the visuals are fresh and step right out of the screen and the human sidekick is not only adorable, but you fall in love with her as the show goes on.

Sam and his crew won me over in the movie as well, but after a certain point....we got it. He was a rich, but hapless loser who got lucky and ended up with the girl of his dreams. How much more backstory did we need on that?

No. Any more than three is a bad, bad, bad idea.

Dude if Bay's going to do all of them, making 5 or 500 wont help.

Bay doest tell great stories.

Hey man, stop trolling.

We all know you don't like the first movie. You can't be serious about this.

By all means, welcome to seibs and all that, feel free to post here, but this is rediculous.

Why is it trolling for wanting more than three movies? Come on!

Yes, I want more than three movies, because I feel the potentially rich mythology needs more than three. Movie one waste alot of its storytelling time on pointless humans and subplots, rendering little to know time for the mythology. Hence, more movies are needed to bring that mythology to full fruition.

Of course, if movies 2 and onwards are going to be as shallow and as bad as movie 1, then I say stop at movie 2.

Well, with its pointless subplots and waste of storytelling time, I really don't regard the first live action Transformers movie as TF1. Others can if they wish. But to me, it should be more like Transformers Episode 0 where they just introduce the bots and wet the public's appetite for them. You don't need a good deep story to do that. The second movie should be Transformers Episode 1 where the real storytelling, plot, and character development comes to life.

There's the problem. This is trilogy of movies (and they specifically said trilogy, no more.) and not a television series with a glorified pilot.

We got what we got and there's no changing it. It is TF 1 (as you put it) and there's no way to change that.

And I must say, that if they went down the path you're thinking of, well then...they dropped the ball on introductions, for sure.

If you really are serious, then no, it's not trolling.

Your post seemed sarcastic.

And TF1 did have a story and plot. The plot was loser kid in high school gets the girl by making robot friends and helping them fight off bad robots. It was the Iron Giant on steroids.

It wasn't the plot us hardcore 80's TF fans wanted, but it was a plot.

The "mythology" will most likely be covered extensively in the next two movies, and my friend Abraham Lincoln thinks it will be a different mythology than what we want. It will probably draw on elements from all the different versions of TF's through the years.

The geewunner stooges will be disappointed. So-called pointless subplots will abound.

I'm sorry but I really have to disagree, 3 movies is definetly enough. TF1 had its ups and downs, storywise and character-wise, I know that TF2 will blow the first movie out of the water and hopefully TF3 will and that will be that.

But seeing movies 4, 5, 6, 7 etc. is just abit over Exaggerating. Also I doubt Peter cullen will be around long enough to play Optimus Prime for Movies after movie 3.

So I must really say More TF movies is kinda asking for too much. A trilogy is enough.

i think i agree three bay style movies would be enough but there are deafinatly more storys to tell but i'd like to see them in cgi dvd movies in a more g1 style -they would probbily get a less mainstream audiance after they have seen 3 movies of giant f'ing robots fighting
addmitedly this is probbily less likely because of the (exelent) animated seris but still thats where id like to see it go.

Peter cullens not that old is he?

Three isn't always a lucky number for hollywood franchises. This all depends on how the second goes and how the third one goes. If the third sets up something then maybe they should do a fourth but if it doesn't why bother?

I also forgot to mention one thing, No Remakes in the far future. Because movies are movies and they should just stay like that.

Not a good idea. 3 is enough. Then they (movie makers) can start a new set when TF1-TF3 have some dust on them.

Maybe 4 but no more than that. TF2 has to be better then TF1 imo.

I agree the TF series can only get better but they would need to stop at 3.

TF1 is NOT a classic. Maybe TF2 or TF3 can.

It has to improve and move forward beyond the Bay style, to be able to last more than 3 episodes.

HUH?? These movies are Bay-style. If it went into TF4 and TF5 it would still be Bay-style wouldn't it??

What Auto Bot is saying is that Bay's handling of the films is great as a gimmick, not as a franchise. In Auto Bot's mind, a new director would have to take over to continue the series successfully.

Not saying I agree, just that that's what AB is trying to say.

Personally, I'm fine with Bay as is, I just don't want there to be TF 4, 5, 6, God knows what.

After the second one, trilogies seem to take a sharp decline in quality, by the time you hit the third part, it's just thrown together because they know it's the end.

Hmmm.... Ok 032 I got you. Well TF3 can't be worse than TF1 can it?? I would certainly hope not.

3 TF movies with this new style and feel is enough.

Now I not saying there should be no more than 4 Transformer movies total for all time.

At least let the Mike Bay set get some dust on them. Lets see if they become classics. Too many movies can ruin the total package,

Look at what happened to Batman!!! They didn't know when to stop and they ended up ruining the what Tim Burton started. They had to rush to start over with a new series in the franchise.

Micheal Bay/Dreamworks/Paramont should only do a 3 movie series. Then give it a few years and let someone else start a new series/story.

Look at what happened to both the Superman and Batman franchises for a possible answer to that question.
