Well firstly at the base he had the element of surprise, you'll notice that almost none of the troops were able to mobilize in time most were vaporized as they were running either to their posts or away from him. Also they had not yet figured out that high heat rounds were capable of penetrating the transformer armor. Between the chaos of the moment and the ignorance of his capabilities it made him far more than a match. later they knew what he looked like what he could and would do, and they knew what rounds would be effective. While i personally disagree with the concept of human weaponry being effective against TFs at all its not hard to understand the movie logic.

That, plus Blackout got hammered by F-22 missiles just before Lennox shot his sabot round. SOCCENT's air force was stationed at the time and no pilot could even comprehend the thing that was attacking his base, let alone reach his craft alive.

If you're not buying that, consider the fact Lennox hit him square in the CROTCH. Of course he went down! Heck, he might not even be dead, just hurt a crapload.

Prepare to see him return in TF2 with a rather awkward bowlegged walk.

well it doens't matter where Lennox hit. The F-22 missiles were what took down Blackout, not the "sabo crotch rocket."

You didn't see Blackout make the comedic gesture of what happens when you get hit where you shouldn't get hit.

True, but that's because the 'under-leg region' is more important to us humans than it is to those guys. It's probably as significant to them as getting smacked on the shoulder would be to us.

After seeing BB take out Devastator and just before jumping on the bike Lennox shouted what part of the body is vulnersble. He slid underneath but fired up into the chest. I watched the film last night.

Not saying any one here is wrong but mull this over a bit. Scokrponok gets peged with 20mm depleted uranium rounds plus hellfire missles then a c130 gunship hits him with 105mm sabo rounds and if my ears don't decieve me several 20mm rounds. The best that does is bust off his stinger. The weapons that Lennox and his men have is 40 mm from a hand held weapon. Thus meanning less velocity. In short it just idiosyncratic writing like when they open BB's hood and Makayla says he has a high rise double pumper. When clearly it is individual throttle bodies with fuel ingection.

I think it's the heat of the shell that's important, not velocity.

That's all so obvious I didn't think it worth mentioning! :P

Yeah the heat range of the round is more important but compare the size of the two cons and the size of the shells they got tagged with.
Lennox got luckey!

The good guys normally win by luck - in most films they're lucky the bad guys can never shoot anyone!
