As previously reported here, Seibertron.com posted information regarding a USB Hub made to look like the Allspark that will be available in August 2008.

We've now found a preorder listing for both this and an Optimus Prime Head sculpt USB Hub as well on BBTS.com.

Image

Product description is as follows:

This 9” tall USB hub in the form of Optimus Prime's head, includes the phrases: “Autobots, transform and roll out!”, “This is Optimus Prime – do you read me?” and “It’s time to stomp some Decepticons!” When connecting hardware or memory sticks to the hub the sound and lights (in the eyes) are activated. An on/off switch included so the sound doesn't have to go off. Controls 4 devices, no mains plug/power cord is required.

Retail price listed for this preorder is set at $34.99 USD.

You can view the preorder for both the Allspark Cube and Optimus Prime Head USB Hubs here.

I've had this and the AllSpark one preordered for a couple weeks now. I don't need them, I just support the idea of incorporating practical use into real TFs. The dream is REAL RealGears, and it's gotta start somewhere.

I'm not computers or anything, so i don't know about stuff like this. How much would a plain old dodad like that run, cause I could use one in the field, and I don't think dragging around a Prime head is all that practical.

Do they make them smaller?

Yes, I realy don't know about this crap!

I'll pass on this one too, the head of Prime on my desk seems too creepy to me.

The Allspark hub is a better option to me.

Just a plain ol' USB hub? You're looking between probably $30-100ish depending on how nice of a hub you want. Check places like Circuit City online or something. Here's a nice example:

Logitech 4-port USB hub

You can find these things just about anywhere that sells computer stuff. Happy hunting!

It's ok if you want Primes head staring at you with those blue eyes. If i needed one though i might think about it. Really cool for the diehard though.

That a pretty cool technological device, but I just have to ask....

Shouldn't USB hubs be getting smaller and more portable?

Now, how the heck is one gonna carry that big head around with his laptop? :-?
