According to Cinematical.com, there may be a chance that the Transformers movie sequel will be done in 3D effects.

The movie based website states that the listing for Transformers the Movie 2 in the Dolby News release for ShoWest 2008, was stated to be in 3D. Cinnematical.com also goes on the state that this would make sense "...since the only way to top the FX of the first film is to have them flying off the screen at the audience this time around."

Cinnematcal.com also states that no word has come out of the production camp validating this information so this is just a possibility at this time.

...3-D? Oh yeah, I need to pay for a bout of motion sickness. Yeah, sign me right up.

I can do 3-D, or I can do in your face, jittery action scenes, I can't do the combo. No...

I only wish! I'd do IMAX 3D front row center seats until I soil my pants! Unfortunately, sounds way too good to be true.

I really hope that is not true. There is no need for that.

Oh god, a Michael Bay movie in 3-D... If you think those types of effects are nauseating in general, imagine 3-D effects with a super-shakey-cam.

PASS.

Forgive my ignorance. What does it mean it could be filmed in 3-D? Is that how the Beowulf movie was filmed?

Beowulf was done with CGI and partial 3D affects. 3 Dimensional basically gives the effect that the things you're seeing are real. Like they stick out at you. I have yet to see a 3D movie that actually made me feel as though anything was flying at me though.

Ugh, not 3-D transformers AGAIN  . They already tried this combo in comics:
http://transformers.wikia.com/wiki/Transformers_in_3D

Putting that aside, the only 3-D movie that I felt to have anything come at me was the remake for Polar Express in imax theaters, and frankly, the added 3-D was about 30 min. combined total. Considering how most other 3-D movies I've heard and seen in the past few years (Spy Kids: Game Over, for example  ), 3-D is, IMO, a novelty and should rarely be used in big-buget films, if at all. Transformers is my favorite film, and if the second looks just the same in a few ways, I'm perfectly fine with that :) . If, by some freak of nature, this is TRUE  is any shape or form, I'm gonna wait for the non 3-D version, if the movie is worth watching at all.

I saw the last Harry Potter film in IMAX 3D - and the 3D was limited to the climactic final 20 minutes or so, with little signs flashing up to tell you to put on your goggles.
I have to say seeing it like that was fantastic - I kinda wish they sold a 3D version of it on DVD that came with goggles... ;)
Optimus Prime kicking Megatron's (or Galvatron's) butt in 3-D???
If this is done right then it could be awesome.

confirmed: it may be in 3d

isn't that a huge contradiction right there?

Also, please no. A regularily shot film will do fine.

i could care less if the sequel was in 3d it gives me an option to see it in 3d or not.

family guy starwars spinoff dvd set that was in 3d and i couldnt tell what scenes where in 3d and what scenes where not in 3d until checked out the specila featuresd and clicked the scene to see it in 3d i wasnt impressed by the 3d aspect of thingat all but with & without the glasses i couldnt tell if it was in 3d or not.

making a movie into 3d kinda makes look like cheap crap something you would see in the 1970 or 80 films jaws for one not imperesive effect by me but yet again ihavnt seen jaws in 3d myself and probably wouldnt be impressed by the 3d effect if i where to see it in3d effects with the glasses on

Confirmed as in UPDATED!!!

If you read both articles, the original and the .pdf posted, you will see that the 3D version will only be available in select theatres under a different format.

Well, it's good to know it's not going to ONLY be in 3D.

All 3D ever does for me is make the screen blurry. I've got crap depth perception. :-(
