As previously reported here on Seibertron.com, Australian actress Isabel Lucas(Home and Away) was casted for the sequel to the live action Transformers film by TFTM producer Steven Speilberg.

Explosive Director Michael Bay has posted about this information on his ShootForTheEdit.com forums. From Mr. Bay himself:

Isabel - no Steven did not pick her - it just makes a good sound bite for press. Yes, I did give her the part. - True story.

Michael

So yes, Isabel Lucas is in Transformers 2 but no, producer Steven Speilberg did not pick her for the role. To view the original thread on this subject at the Bay Boards, click here.

Since Bay admits he's been lying to us, I'll take Spielberg's word over his.

Someone doesn't seem to like other people taking the credit for stuff he's involved with.

This reminds me of all the looney tunes "Duck Dodgers" cartoons where porky pig would come up with an idea, but then Daffy would tell him it was stupid and then immediately say, "Wait, I have an idea!" and say the same thing

"She's not in the movie!"

"She is in the movie!"

I almost think that Bay is deliberately trying to get us to ignore any source for the new movie whatsoever--including himself. I'm fine with that.

Just goes to show, let the horse get too far ahead of the wagon and you get what we have here...a good look at a horses ass! :P Time for Spielberg to tug a little harder on the reins and remind someone of who ultimately calls the shots on this project. As far as information goes, I'll trust my own gut instincts and half educated guesses about TF2 before I trust what comes out of Bay's camp. Except for his vow to mis-inform everybody. That I believe.
