Take this however you want, call me a Bay Hater, whatever. I do hate Bay and I hated the first movie.

That being said I've read some things regarding the 2nd movie.

1. Roberto Orchi saying that the sequill will be a better balance between the Humans and Transformers cast.

This would most definatly be a GOOD thing. I felt the first movie didn't even show enough of the Transformers cast to even recive that title. It was more like "Bumblebee the Movie" Transformers 2 has a bigger budget so where they couldn't really aford to show the robots in the first movie the second should be alot more of them.

2. Micheal Bay said he's wrighting the sequill. Luckily it's only a rough draft he'll give to the real wrighters who hopefully by that time will have their own version. I'm sure Micheal Bay's idea of a script is just a list of things he wants to blow up.

Micheal Bay is absolutly the worst possible director they could have picked for this movie and I really don't want him involved in the sequill at all. Every interview he's given has been one lie after another. You can see that in the movie itself that nothing he said would happen actully happened. He preddy much said screw you to the fans and did whatever the hell he wanted with it.

Here's a good example "I changed Megatron's head after the fans were apposed to the original design that much." He didn't change the head, it's the same ugly ass head from the concept designs only with more detail so it looks even WORSE than the concept art. And Megatron's wasn't even the only design we complained about. We were told on the movie fourms that all of the concept designs were not the designs that would appear in the movie, they were.

If Micheal Bay is going to be in this movie again he better give us the truth this time. No more saying he's going to do something and then never doing it. Hell I don't want Micheal Bay to even be within a 100 mile radios of the cast and crew. All he care's about is blowing stuff up.

That's the one thing I've heard from Bay that's actully true. He likes to make things go boom. He honestly hasn't got a clue what the hell he's doing as a director and not only should he not be the Director of TF2 he shouldn't be a director at all. He should be locked up somewhere, the man's a freaking pyro.

3. I will watch TF2 no matter what because I want to see what they'll do with that larger budget. Now that people have been introduced to Transformers the sequill should by all means take more time to actully develop them as characters. If not than TF3 is a big "screw you I ain't going"

I wonder what the **** they were thinking with Micheal bay really. I mean honestly I love the movie, but I really feel they could of done a little better job in parts. You know they asked the guy to direct it and his first response was "i ain't doing that stupid toy movie!" you'd think they'd look elsewhere at that point!

I kind of feel the same way they do on the shape shifting thing but I completely disagree when Micheal bay says the original designs wouldn't look good in the real world. Umm... has he seen the Alternator line? I mean the transformers look good, and I do like meg's look, it grew on me. But mainly the deceptions are what really sucked. A whole cast of noobs and nobodies that all died other than screamer or Megatron, and freakin screamer looked like a bird! I'm looking up at my Masterpiece starscream right now and thinking "yeah he would look FINE in his original form".

I mean I don't totally hate the new designs, don't get me wrong, but I still COMPLETELY disagree when Bay says the original designs wouldn't work.

Anyway my biggest complaints about the movie were its Release on DVD. #1. no blu-ray version #2. 2 versions of the DVD, one that included no features and a rediculously priced $30 version that has poopy special features. #3. No extended edition to tie in loose ends.

And that's exactly why I belive Bay is the main guy respocible for all the stupid crap in the movie.

You mean "Mass Shifting" which actully WAS in the movie dispite everyone involved saying there would be no mass shifting.

When I first heard about a live action movie my first thought was to use the Alternators line for the movie. Honestly I thought that line was intended to be used in the movie anyway.

I do completly hate the movie designs but then again I allso hate the Beast Machines designs and the Animated designs and I still like both thoughs shows.

#1. Yes there is a Blu Ray version. #2. They came out with 3 versions of the DVD not 2. I don't know where you're shopping but the Wal-Mart in my are has the Blu-Rays for $30 and the other 2 versions were about $20 - 25. #3. What loose ends are you talking about? This is only the first movie there can't be loose ends yet.

The suggested retail version of the "special edition" movie is $29.99. You can find it cheaper, I agree, but I just don't agree with special editions. A couple years ago there ago "special edition" was the standard edition of the DVD! All the bonus features just came with the DVD, wasn't extra. I have seen an HD-DVD version but I have yet to see a blu-ray version of Transformers.

BTW as for loose ends I was thinking mainly of one in my eyes: Where the hell did barricade go? He was heading to the city and he just vanished after the interstate scene. You see him coming up behind the autobots and thats the last you see of him.

Like I said before, it's only the first movie. Loose ends like that are not likely to be exsplained in a DVD feature.

As a fan I do agree I didn't like the designs at first, but you know what I am used to it now. I like all the new looks. I Google TF1 pics all the time and I can never find any new pics of Star Scream. Its just the same promotional stuff we have already seen. But the new designs are cool for this series.

The DVD did suck. I wanted to hear more about the Transformers and how they picked who they picked. Id rather hear more from Hasbro and the writers. All we got was military this and that. That stuff was boring. Micheal Bay's commentary was just him stroking off. He should not have done it alone.

Starscream of all people didn't have many lines, which really disappointed me. Hopefully TF2 can fix those problems. The designs are not important to me. I know it is based off G1. The story and the actual transformers being in TF2 is important.

This probably has to do with the fact that Steven Spielberg, who was exectuive producer for years on the first, believed that Bay was the perfect choice and stuck with him in mind. Bay thought about doing the movie for a while and soon enough went to "Transformers school" at Hasbro to leanr more about the myhtos.

It is true that the first movie wasn't the best movie of all time and could've been better but by the end of the day what other hollywood hotshot director would've accepted the job? I do not know how many other director's were offered prior to Bay but if they had done it would the movie be just a fun a flick as Bay's? Would they have been more pasisonite? Would they have put that much effort with it? Bay actually was up to it and made an extremely fun movie that entetrained a lot of people, myself included.

As for him not having a clue to what he's doing, many people who have worked with him would disagree with that notion. For instance, a firend of mine met Mark Ryan who voiced Bumble Bee for the first movie and Mr. Ryan had nothing but praise for Bay and told him a story of what had happened one time on set-During the filming of the backyard sequence Ryan recalled some of the set guys and actors weren't sure how it was going to go and Bay knew the exact camera moves he wanted, what he wanted to use, lens, the whole lot and he had it all planned in his head. Mark Ryan also said that anyone who thinks Michale Bay doesn't have a clue to what he's making, relaly don't know what they're talking about. Morgan Sheppard, who played Sam's great grandfather Captian Witwicky, said at an event in the UK( as my firend had told me) that Bay "Can do the crews job better than they can." My friend also had the fortune of meeting with Ethan Phillips who was in The Island, Phillips said that Bay gives a 110% when he's working on his movies. So going by what my friend has told me, Bay knows exatcly what movie he's making and knows his audience.

As for every interview being almost a lie, while I do agree some of his interivews are a little "huh?" he did sum up the firts movie well on the HBO making of featurette that it was " a VERY funny movie with excitement and wondemrent to it and it brings out the kid in ya."
By those choice of words and personal perspective I would say he did just that. I thought it was very funny and it had wondemrnet to it, I though tit was ecxiting and the child in me was brought out. But to each their own on the quality of the first.

I for one, like the movie designs. They do look more alien and realistic at best and create a good edge to it. And yes I do hope we get a great majority of the TF's int he sequel the budget itslef is what kept from being 50/50 and with the the bigger budget that could very well be done.

I'm not a movie hater by any stretch but that is a bit annoying. I don't know that he had a clue about the TF franchise.

Great post by the way. I don't mind new designs either but some resemblence of what Megatron or Starscream actually looked like in G1 would have been nice. My biggest pet peave...no fusion cannon!! How do you not give Megatron a Fusion Cannon? It's like Darth Vader without a red light saber. Megatron grew on me too but the fact that he doesnt have a visible cannon attached to his arm is annoying. I actually LOVE starscream's new design. It's actually one of my favorite designs in any series. Some may disagree but Starscream (what ridiculously little time he had in the movie) was the best things about the movie for me and his design is up there with his G1 design IMO.

It would have been nice to see some deleted decpeticon scenes on the DVD too. I believe they were written but never made it to the movie. What they didn't give us in the movie would have been nice to see on DVD...but maybe they weren't even filmed / produced who knows.

Yeah I used to hate the designs but they did grow on me, and they look a lot better in action than your first reaction to seeing them in a picture. And honestly with as many spin-offs and "alternate" universe TV shows, seeing the TF's with a new design is nothing new. Its not really a complaint much as as disagreement. I agree that yeah the designs would of had to change a little to make them realistic and make the big screen. And I agree Vehicle modes would of had to of been updated too. I think the Transformers might have stood out more if per say Ironhide was some old Toyota Mini-van that no one drove anymore.

I just disagree when Micheal bay says they wouldn't have worked at all. Like I said Earlier, the masterpiece and the Alternator Series have proven how realistic the original concepts can look!

I did like the movie too, in fact I can't even count how many times I've seen it now. But on that note too, I agree that the whole military thing was over-used on the special features of the DVD. I could understand one special about it, but the whole time it was just "Micheal bay has a strong relationship with the military" over and over again! No deleted scenes, no extended edition DVD release movie, no outtakes, no music videos (which can be both a good thing and a bad thing). Typically special editions have like 12 hours or so of extras, Transformers just had like 4 videos talking about Micheal bay's strong relationship with the Military.

But I do think at this point they need to stick with Bay. When directors get changed, things go to hell, ie Batman, which got so bad, that when Christopher Nolan got ahold of it he had to scrap pretty much everything that had already been done and start over from scratch!

Really though, the story can't be any worse than the first movie.

First movie it was a flying all spark cube and then Earth. Holly hell we allready know what Earth is I wanna see Cybertron.

For both fans and people who never watched Transformers the best possible way to introduce them to Transformers would of been to show Cybertron durring Prime's opening monolog insted of a giant floating cube.

Next step would be to show what the Decepticons and Autobots were doing to track down the AllSpark.

THEN they could move on to Sam Witwicky.

Desert scene with Scorpinok, wasn't needed, Scorpinok should have never been in the movie. Not only was his scene pointless but he never even Transforms.

There's so much about why the Autobots were doing what they were doing that's never exsplained. Why send Bumblebee to Earth alone and wait for him to send a signal before joining in? What if he was killed before he could send out a signal? Did they have a backup plan? Something to answer these questions would be better than the bit with Scorpinok.

The Decepticon stuff was sort of in there but it seemed like they were acting on their own rather than working as a group till the end when they finally came out of hideing.

All the Transformer plot in the movie wasn't even there and insted all we saw was the human point of view. I want to know what the Autobots and Decepticons were doing all that time we were watching the puny flesh creatures.

Hopefully Transformers 2 will indeed be a balance between the two because if I leave the theater and still fell like I saw too many fleshys and not enough giant robots this movie is dead.

According to the Movie Sequel comic Ironhide runs him into a bridge support and he gets severely banged up. Starscream later retrieves him and tells him to keep tabs on the Autobots while Starscream goes back to the dam to try and get Frenzy's remains.

That was one of the big issues last year.Bay made a fit when Paramont said that they were backing the HD-DVD format.

Now that the format has fallen I'm sure that a Blue Ray version will be made but as far as I know it hasent been done yet.

I don't know where you're getting this information from but I've been seeing blu-rays at wall-mart for months ever sence the first two came out.

The two pack one that had the bonus disk with the special features is sold out and they're haveing trouble keeping that on shelfs. The normal DVD and Blu-Ray versions aren't selling verry well. Probly because the normal DVD has nothing on it and apperently noone but me knows the blu-rays even exsist. :lol:

I like the new Starscream as well. He looks very evil now. I wish I could find a Starscream poster. They put out many toys, but I didn't see other stuff that I was interesting in. I'm a fan, but to old for toys.

Speaking of toys people say they don't like TFM because it was just a way to get out new toys....Well what do you think TF1 was?? Hasbro made a killing of TF1. And good for them.

As far as the DVD. Again I think it sucked. Voice actor interviews would have been cool. Adding the producers and writers to the commentary would have also been a great addition. The cover art SUX big time. You have to keep that clear sleeve on it for it to make sense. The cover for just the 1 dvd is actually a better cover. And 9 times out of 10 they may even bring out another TF1 DVD... :roll:

I'm only complaining because its not too late to give the fans what they want on TF2 & TF3. Both movies and dvds
