Michael Bay has posted on his web blog that the clip we saw of Prime talking was NOT Cullens voice
"The unreleased ad (Prime speaks) that was posted on youtube was a test that European were making with the ads. The clip where OP was "speaking," lets just say that it wasn't OP or Cullen speaking. It was something the European studios added on their own. In fact, it was a test shot."

I saw the regulars on... another board totally losing their **** over this earlier. I wasn't entirely sure why.
Anyway, I'm off to think about General Motors vehicles towing giant transforming bottles of Pepsi.

well the fact prime speaking was a test shot is a little comforting. As for it not being cullin, at least its offical.

I would really like to meet Mr. Bay and shake his hand for handling all the slings and arrows the way he does. I'm still pumped about this movie. Phak, time is moving slow.

oh come on did people actually think it was the end product? when you look at the difference between prime transforming in that and the official trailer its worlds apart. i always viewed it as a test shot and was glad someone released it for the sake of interest.

You know what? They should make Optimus Prime transform into the pepsi bottle. That would be cool as a promotion.
This is quite good news. I just hope it all ends well.
Mere months away now too.
Bay ain't the greatest, but there is really no need to attack him at every turn.
So he doesn't do exactly what you want. Since when has Hasrbro done that either?
Remember, Hasblo set the bar for screwing over tfans, not Bay.
He is just doing what he thinks is best in the end.

Hopefully the next TV spot or trailer that airs will have the real Prime speak.

well, if that wasn't cullen, that that was a pretty close impersonator in terms of timbre.

Sounded like Cullen to me. They did a good job whoever did it. I was fooled.

This is some of the best news to come from Bay!

Even is that was Prime, I would still be looking forward to the movie (though, I really didn;t like that voice at all)! Can't wait for the June 28th screening at Botcon!

Fantastic! It means Prime has his normal G1 voice.

I think IF Speilberg and Bay were at odds, its probably is because Bay is too arrogant and all his choices about the move are horrible and Speilberg said "I told you so" I would be surprised if Bay has watched more than 3 eps ffrom the original series and absolutely thinks "the cartoons were amatuer". As to that Op speaks clip I bet it was real and they wanted to get an idea of how it would go over before the "official" release. Like the "re-designed" megatron because of fan dislike and mockery, it will change , just not much.

This post makes me was to cause self-inflicted pain with a blunt object.
Sounds like your forcing yourself to not believe the article, due to your need to hate Bay.

Or due to his mental retardation.

The haters are a funny lot. They can not see the good in anything. They can not accept the fact that Hasbro/Takara/Bay were not put on this Earth to cater only to them. That there are thousands if not millions of Transformer Fans all over the world that appreciate and enjoy the work done by others for them.
The haters are silly.

Well, thank goodness. The face still sucks but if Cullen didn't sound like the Prime we know, I would pretty much have zero excitement for this movie.

At this point I have no doubt this will be a "great action movie" with stunning visuals, but like any old fan of the franchise, I think the deviations from established characters will leave a bitter taste. Either way, I will try to go into it with an open mind. Unless the movie strikes a chord with some real heartwarming characterization, probably won't buy any of the toys, tho.

How many times have we heard/read someone say "that was a mock version" or "the design is not final" or "it wont be like that in the final version", only for whatever they said to not be true, and the designs be final, or that the not final or the mock version ends up being exactly what will be in the final version?
Now I doubt that the Prime voice that was used in that youtube vid is the real deal, it wouldnt surprise me if it ended up in the final movie.

It wouldn't surprise you if they had Cullen be Prime for the entire movie, but just left in that one scene where it isn't him? What does that even mean?
