The TFW TF2 Insider has confirmed that the character of Alice, as played by Isabel Lucas, in Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen, is a Pretender. For those not familiar with Transformers sublines from the 1980s, Pretenders are Transformers that are hidden inside a shell that acts as their disguise. In the case of Alice, the shell will be an attractive human woman while the inner robot is best described as a hybrid of the Frenzy robot design from the first movie. The Pretender Transformer will have an arm that transforms into an energy weapon, a long tongue, and a scanning tenticle.

Why can't they shake this source down for more important info, like when the hell are they going to start bothering to promote the movie?

I hope that this is one of those false rumors that Bay was going to spread.
Pretenders are all well and good, but doesn't it seem a little early in the series to introduce them?
I mean, Bay barely scratched the tip of the iceberg when it came to actual Transformers (read: big dang robots).
Now he might be taking the Terminator angle?

But whatever...
It's his movie, and I'm sure that if anyone can work a homicidal fembot into the mix, it's Michael Bay.
I'll watch it either way, though. Lol...

It's now November. The big holiday push is about to happen, and some of the larger movie francises set to have summer releases, will be starting to show their trailers advertising what is to come.

Isabel Lucas character, 'Alice', is stated by this insider to be a pretender. That's right, she is rumored to be a robot hiding inside a human shell. Supposedly the robot is similar in size and design to frenzy, with a long tongue, a scanning tentacle, and has an arm that transforms into an energy weapon ala Bumblebee.

So the fans get pissed cause there wasnt enough put in the first one so now they decide to take every idea ever created in the TF universe and put it in the 2nd one? There is such a thing as to much. Whats the next rumor reveal going to be minicons and cyberkeys? Maximal and Predacons? Im starting to lose faith in this franchise with every rumor that comes out. Even if there not true just having people think thats what it is makes me sick to my stomach.

Only the U.S. Pretenders idea was bad: giant robots inside shells of [i]even more giant[i/] people.

However, the Masterforce treatment of Pretenders was much better.

Victory... well, I can't say. I've only seen the first three episodes of it. From what I saw of the Dinoforce, they weren't as cool, but okay, I guess.

I think inserting "pretender" technology is a logical progression of the way the Decepticons will continue to infiltrate human society. Frenzy had a difficult enough time getting around without compromising his mission due to his small size not allowing him a more sophisticated altmode; a technorganic shell is better suited for his kind of work compared to a stereo, MP3 player, cell, etc. It allows for more versatility until the time comes where you need to use your scanning tentacle or your built-in plasma pistol. This is a much-appreciated progression of Cybertronian technology as well as a great homage to an obscure guilty pleasure within the TransFan community... if it's true, it's cool!

First powerlinking, now Pretenders. Is every character of TF2 going to have its own gimmick?

crap i was expecting it to be flase information and we wouldnt see any pretenders in the film now that its part of the news section its possible now.....................this would be the onyl thing i would not like about this sequel if it turns out to be true i hated the pretenders bad characters and everything else about theme

I didnt like this idea when I saw in Screamers with Peter Weller.

Non-IDW Pretenders are stupid and I pray that this is just misinformation.

The word on that thing on the windshield was that it wasnt a whole robot but a physical prop and placeholder.

Ya know, this version of the Pretenders seems to be a mix of both the U.S. and Masterforce versions of them. Like the Masterforce ones, the shell can look like a regular human instead of an armored human. But, unlike the Masterforce ones, this one doesn't need to size change when entering and exiting its shell, which is more like the U.S. version. However, "the robot inside" is small enough already, so the shell isn't a giant human anyway.

Well... it sucks.

Pretenders would be too much of a Terminator idea for this movie.

Of course that it can be done, but it doesn't mean that it must be done.

If everything done to transformers is put in one single movie (The Fallen, Pretenders, Combiners, Unicron, G1, G2, etc.) the heads of the people going to the theaters would literally asplode.

i actually liked the pretenders,but since this is a bay movie,we cant expect them to put it in on account of one thing:REALISM!

i can understand how the concept of a robot hiding inside a fake human decoy would be very good for spying/infiltratian,but there are a few problems wrong with it when explaining it-
1.how did it get the ability to create a fake human to hide in.
2.how are they gonna explain how it gets back inside without it bieng complerely fake-looking
3.if it's inside a shell,how would it be able to use weapons
4.wasn't this robot confirme by hasbro to be ravage

I'm geussing the character gets in her body to hit o Sam so that he'll spill info about the allspark or autobots or something. This seems kind of corny. And somehow the robot gets exposed to be a robot and goes all evil on sam thus trapping him inside the car thus leading to the scene in this picture.

If this is true, this movie's plot seems very complex. We've got powerlinking on both sides, pretenders, revivng of a decepticon, revenge of the fallen, and from the insider clip, somehow a fight in the desert. And Japan, and Egypt, and an air force base. Plus a female bot, and Sam going crazy, and a transformer who feels an Ice cream truck is a good diguise. PLUS Megatron coming back as an alien tank. Interesting.
