Transformers Live Movie to get Chinese "Re Issue"

No Seibertronians, you did not read the headline wrong. According to an interview posted in CriEnglish.com, Hong Kong based director Jeffery Lau (A Chinese Odyssey), is planning on "remaking" the Transformers movie.
Starting November 19th, 2008, filming will begin on Robot, an idea Lau has had in mind for the last ten years. It was stated by Lau's film company, Le TV.com, that "the movie will present a refreshing look at Chinese robots for people who are used to stereotypical Hollywood figures like Spiderman and Superman. The Chinese robot, in comparison, would feel closer and more human to audiences, as it is the incarnation of Oriental wisdom and strength."
More closer to human? In other words, more G1ish? Fanboys rejoice!
Filming will be set in mainland China in Zoumatang, an ancient village in Ningbo, Zhejiang province. Then the production team plans move to Shanghai's landmark structures, such as the Oriental Pearl tower and the World Financial Center, to finish the shooting.
No cast for the film have been announced yet.
We will definately keep you posted on new details as they become available. To view the original article on this, click here.
