Honesty about the trailer...

Lets face it, it sucked.
It was too quick and fast to show anything relavent about the movie. I understand the high price of a superbowl ad but well maybe they shouldn't of waited till the superbowl to show it! By now we should be seeing the full trailer, not a 30 second teaser. All you saw was action action "SAM NO!!!" action action, like 200 clips in 30 seconds.
I for one wasn't impressed. Didn't answer any of my questions about the movie.

The trailer had it's moments, but overall it was too much of a tease.
I rewatched the original trailers and teases for the first movie. They were much better.
I liked the Ravage and R8 scenes, but otherwise there were too many quick cuts of rapid action. I want a good story first followed by kick ass action.

The trailer is coming out with the Friday the 13th movie. Since this was a taser trailer I really wasnt expecting to see a lot of whats in the movie. Remember the Dark knight teaser?... just the batmanlogo with voices in the background

I think ads at this year's game cost like $3 mill for 30 seconds? Advertisers shell out that kind of bread because they know that more Americans are glued to that one channel at that one time than at any other time of the year. It also reaches across just about every major demographic--men, women, old, young, republican, democrat, etc. If you want to reach absolutely everybody, advertise during the Superbowl.
And frankly, I HATE those teasers or trailers that give too much away. Nothing's worse than seeing a trailer and saying, jeez, now I've just seen probably one of the funniest or best actiony bits in the whole movie.... Like didn't they trailer _Land of the Lost_ as well? I feel pretty secure knowing I've pretty much seen every thing that movie really has to offer. I'd rather have these questions--who was that? what's going on? than 'know' I've got 75 percent of the plot figured out.

I believe that is why the call them 'teasers'.
This wasn't meant to give us information. It was meant to draw our attention, whet our appettite for more.

in reality, i was like wtf with the first teaser for the first movie. this one at the superbowl...i was looking at it, slowing it down, pausing it to look at certain parts.. (im part analyitical with things that are CGI, its in my blood... sue me - well dont really lol)
..i was impressed by the scale of some of the things.. i mean come on.. there are things out there bigger than megatron or prime, that surely must get your mouth watering figuring out how these are going to form together into Devastator, dont you wanna know who the audi R8 is? i mean yes i dont really like teasers but i loved this one...
i cant wait for the full trailer...
... and for the record, they gotta put the best bits or the "what the hell..." moments in there cos how else are they gonna get your attention to whats happening? If they didnt do that then they pretty much wouldnt use them in teasers or in full trailers for films... pretty much would be pointless having trailers in all honesty

I understand what a "teaser trailer is" but this teaser was too fast and random. I waited patiently all superbowl to see it and finally they show it in the 4th quarter, and I was kinda like "thats it?" My friends and family with me were asking me what TF was which and I was like " Well I saw starscream, thats about it". The screen cap breakdown posted on this site was more useful than the actual trailer.
You wann a see a good teaser go look up the Spiderman 2 teaser. I kind of think thats the best way. Show a climatic scene from the movie and leave people saying "holy **** that was awesome" when its done!

What annoys me about it is not the length or how much they show, but rather the fact that it comes across as really dark and there is a very good possibility it wont be a true representation of the film.

Yeeesh.
It's a TEASER! There will be more in the coming months. Be thankful we got to see any new robots at all.
I saw it. I liked it. I was actualy more surprised Bay and them went out of their way to include stuff we hadn't seen before in terms of robots. I was left satisfied.
I sware some people are just spoiled to a point where it's never enough no matter what.

I rather liked the trailer, I mean, the CGI looked amazing and once you slow it down and look at the screenshots you notice all sorts of detail.

My personal and humble opinion, the TV spot was definitely a teaser, too many quick action scenes going on after the other.
I took it upon myself to review the 30 second teaser pausing it frame by frame in 1080P HD resolution and i encountered some pretty interesting things in the teaser that gave me a sign of relief of what i had heard and read so far in the comments about the movie.
Remember, Michael Bay likes to throw stuff out there to fool folks in order not to give anything major away from the movie.
First and foremost, I am not going to throw any kind of spoilers out there, but i will give some hints.
Sam is not pinned down to the ground by Starscream like many believe, there are some very huge legs in front and behind him with cybertronian language and rust on the metal and they are definitely not Starcream's chicken legs.
I also don't think Prime's faceplate is blown off by the huge Constructicon (who by the way might be Scavenger from Generation 1) that comes out at the end of the trailer, what hit Prime hard across his face was the same kind of rusted metal that has Sam pinned down on a platform.
I have a pretty good idea of who it already is and it has me very excited.
I just hope for all of die hard Transformers fan's sake that Michael Bay does some justice and keeps his word in this movie and lets Optimus kick some real ass instead of getting his behind kicked around like the first movie.
