There is an interview over at the LA Times with some new pictures, including a still frame of Ironhide and a new picture of Prime's lips. The Prime one is the one on the left with just Shia.

Looks like from near the end, Prime looking kinda beat up there.

He looks so different with and without the mask!

The lips make Prime look a lot more human, I guess that will help him emote to an extent.

He reminds me of like some ancient Egyptian or something, it's really bizarre.

Still, can't wait to see the movie!

Its the photo that shows Shia with the Allspark and says "Mere Mortal Giants" under it. Hopefully, there's not anything wrong, or else I'll be one very shamed Transfan.

They don't look that bad from the front. But I would still like to see more then a still image, and a rough 2 second video that shows it from the side.

Judging by the pic of Ironhide (who looks awesome IMO)it looks like the transformers have projectile weapons (like missles) as opposed to lasers like the cartoon.

Eh, Prime looks good with lips either way. But its a danm good photo

Seems like Prime isn't keeping on his trademark mouthplate all the time, though.

His lips don't look as bad from that angle.

And holy crap, those lips looks so horrible. That combined with the flames... I guess the movie Prime is truly dead to me now.

I pray more faceplate and less lips still because the faceplate is a Prime Trademark...

i think mouth for talking, face plate for battle. I always wondered how does Prime or Soundwave eat/ drink energon..

Nope, don't like an exposed mouth on Prime. Lips are for Primal. And if they can give Prime a humanish face, why not Starscream, Bumblebee, etc?

That's what I don't understand. I don't dislike any of the designs really, but I don't understand why some of them look like a completely different species to others.

human faces for the good guys to better make them seem "human" and relatible. while the villians will always look less human oe larger then life. it's basic super hero supervillan 101

Speaking of Ancient Egyptians, he looks a little like Apocalypse from the X-Men Comic Books.

It doesn't look terrible, but it's still a terrible call adding lips. It's like giving superman a big Q on his chest.

Doesn't anybody remember Optimus Primal without a faceplate in the show?

I know he wasn't G1 but get used to the lips there not bothering me

Dude, I knew his face would look alright with a different/better lighted/more detailed image. I love the look.

If the bigwigs thought the lips were so damn cool, then why doesn't a single piece of merchandise, promotional material or toy we've seen have Prime with his mouth?
