That's strange...

Why is Demolishor no longer listed as a Constructicon? And who is Overload?

No mention of the two other fembot-bikes either. We know Chromia is one... What the hell is going on?

Also, "The Doctor" is a silly name.

I think we've already seen Scalpel's toy. "The Doctor" is probably a case of code names, old information, and the media not having a full load of bricks concerning the film.

I love the bit at the end about making Spielberg swear.

OMG! I love that new picture of Ravage! He looks like he'll be amazing in the movie. The Doctor, as it is called, looks too much like the recently revealed Scalpel, we'll see.

Plus, there are other motorcylces. We've seen them....

Something Is defiantly Up. I mean we all KNOW Sideswipe is gonna be in the Movie, but he is left out. I mean we've seen the trailer with him, we've seen the toy....While I don't think it's an April Fools Joke, Bay is still holding back big time.

Does anyone else wonder why Wheelie is listed as a Decepticon?
In the first Yahoo article there, that is.

"In the spirit of 'more than meets the eye,' Ravage isn't just lethal because of his sharp teeth," says screenwriter Alex Kurtzman. "There's actually another skill set Ravage has that didn't exist before, so there's going to be a surprise for fans."

Surprised this has not been mentioned. I have been posting for months now that Ravage turns into Megatron's right arm/cannon.

Ah, but WHEEL-E Five will end up as an autobot sometime during the movie, on his toy bio, it mentions that he is a side-changer.

I was just about to say that myself! Probably the news sites just didn't know or were told that, or simply couldn't be bothered to post that tidbit of info up. Scalpel looks like a scaaary little terror there. Now I really wonder who the pretender "Alice" will be here. Sigh, can't wait for the movie, so many more months left.....

Couple of quick thoughts/theories based out of the USA Today article...

The article states (after quoting Bay, which is somewhat misleading) "Like the Insecticons, which were giant bugs in the original series and Hasbro toy line, but are now tiny creepy-crawly infiltrators."

At 1:20 in the trailer, Sam looks like he's pulling apart a flying insect, and it appears to be mechanical. Has anyone else caught this? I'm curious how big of a role Insecticons play in the movie.

Also the article quotes, "In the spirit of 'more than meets the eye,' Ravage isn't just lethal because of his sharp teeth," says screenwriter Alex Kurtzman. "There's actually another skill set Ravage has that didn't exist before, so there's going to be a surprise for fans."

What are the chances that Ravage turns out to be the Pretender that was previously rumored? I was thinking there was a video posted where students are fleeing a scene where a blonde girl was walking after them....

Any potential with these theories?

I think these articles are being fed with old information and/or mis-information. Much of it seems like old news......

Yes... why isn't Demolisher listed as a Constructicon? I kind of agree with Scavenger = Demolisher by what I saw in those leaked pics of his toy in vehicle mode. Why did they do that? Why not just call him Scavenger??? I really hope this doesn't turn into a Brawl/Devastator confusion. Ugh.

I know Bay is criticized left and right on many fan sites. I for one actually like what he's done... but my one gripe is this name confusion that I think is at least partially his fault. Like him calling Scorponok "Scorpinox" and him not remembering what Frenzy's name was. I also recall watching one of those behind the scenes parts of the BluRay disk where he called Blackout "Blackhawk".

I attribute this Brawl/Devastator confusion to him and Demolisher/Scavenger confusion to him too -- and the fact that he chose Bonecrusher as the name of the "Buffalo" military vehicle in TF1 and now it can't be used for a constructicon in TF:RotF. If he just would have chosen a different name like Onslaught or even Crumplezone or make him called "Demolisher", then we'd have Bonecrusher for a Constructicon name and perhaps Scavenger would be Scavenger and not Demolisher -- I know I'm a G1 fanboy... and I'll get over it and still enjoy this new movie. I'm just ranting on my one beef with Bay. It's seriously my only real issue with him.

The information states that Ravage will not be able to speak like other Transormers do, nor will any other animalistic Transformer. So I don't believe the Pretender is Ravage.

People wondering who Overload is or where the name came from look at Transformers Armada towards the end of it and you will see that Overload is when Optimus Prime power links and Combines with Over Load making optimus Super Powerful it is like a Huge Cannon on his shoulders this dosent happen until the end of Armada during the Fighting with Galvatron and Unicron attacking Cybertron.

Also Mudflap is from Cybertron he was Landmanine's student and also best friend he turned decipticon for awhile but thanks to Landmine and the others he changed back to being a Autobot once again.

Jolt is from Transformers Armada and also Cybertron he is diffrent in both shows one he was a Minicon who power linked with Hot Shot.
2. He was the Leader of the Mini-Con team and also a intellegence officer gathering info on the Seal of Antlantis and the Omega Lock located on Earth.

Demolisher was in all 3 parts of the Unicron Trilogy one of the few who was and survived until he got upgraded to Snow Cat.

So it seems to mee that Mr. Bay and the people who come up with the bots names have been watching the Previous Unicron Trilogy and the Old Generation one Movies and series which is were most of these come from minus a few new additional characters such as "The Doctor and the Fallen he was never in a Cartoon Series but he was in fact in the IDW comics and he is one of the Acients from the Beginning of Time and also one of the Original 13 transformers.

Arcee is from G1

Wheelie is from G1

Jetfire has been widely used in a bunch of TF shows he and Optimus will be combing or Power Linking in the movie most likely to combat the Fallen or Devestator but unkown which style it will be like Jet-Convoy unkown I say it will be slightly diffrent cause of the way the bots diffrent from the animated counterparts.

Chromia is a a new character

Sideways was was in Armada and he was the Herald for Unicron or Unicron himself taking on a Robotic form and thus became The Side ways we know his ALT Form is that of a Crotch Rocket with a Huminoid Rider when he transformers he can change is isignia at will to trick his enemies to even futher confusion he is a Master Tactician and excellent at playing mind games but unfortunatly Sideways is not the Sharpest Knife in the drawer and that is one of biggest down falls that and he is somewhat of a Klutz also.

The Doctor is a new Character I dont think that is his real name maybe a code-name and they havent released his real name as of yet.

I think this character will be a Perceptor type character really intellegent.

Skids is a new Character also

They forgot to mention about Sideswipe the Bicentineal Corvette he wasnt seen on the list he is an Autobot he has Swords for weapons.

He was in Generation 1 mostly just in the 1st 2 seasons.

There I hope that clears away some of the confusion.

Most of these names are from The Cartoons looks like the been getting ideas from that such as Power Linking and Devestator.

A Few character never been in TF as of yet and were created soley for this movie.

The doctor? sounds like a bad james bond villan. Still not liking ravage. It looks like a facehugger impregnated beast wars Ravage and this was the result. If they make a toy its so getting impaled by one of my Predator figures.

Well, assuming that the not talking part is 100% correct, I still wouldn't rule out him being a pretender.

I could see sexy, predatory, deadly woman being even scarier if you never hear her speak.

On the other hand, I thought a prior image depicted Ravage as much larger than human size, too large to compress down small enough to fit inside a fleshy shell or a hologram. I don't remember where I saw that shot though, so maybe not.

What confusion?

Anyway, I hate to be Captain Obvious, but someone who at least tries to be nice might as well mention it:

Rodimus2006 wrote:People wondering who Overload is or where the name came from look at Transformers Armada towards the end of it and you will see that Overload is when Optimus Prime power links and Combines with Over Load making optimus Super Powerful it is like a Huge Cannon on his shoulders this dosent happen until the end of Armada during the Fighting with Galvatron and Unicron attacking Cybertron.

The name Overload was originally used in 1989 for a micromaster. Of course, like the Armada bot of the same name, he was an Autobot, so the relevance to the movie character is... nil?

Jolt is from Transformers Armada and also Cybertron he is diffrent in both shows one he was a Minicon who power linked with Hot Shot.
2. He was the Leader of the Mini-Con team and also a intellegence officer gathering info on the Seal of Antlantis and the Omega Lock located on Earth.

The first use of the name Jolt was for one of four laser-rods released for Generation 2 in 1994 (the others being Volt, Electro, and Sizzle). I believe the same character was released as a Wal-Mart exclusive redeco of Cybertron Crosswise(?). He was a Decepticon though, so again, probably no relevance to the movie character. Also his alternate mode was a lot cooler.

the Fallen he was never in a Cartoon Series but he was in fact in the IDW comics and he is one of the Acients from the Beginning of Time and also one of the Original 13 transformers.

The Fallen's only other appearance (AFAIK) has been in Dreamwave's War Within: Dark Ages series. I don't believe that he has appeared in any IDW comics.

Jetfire's first appearance on screen was in the first season of G1 (though he was called Skyfire), where he was Starscream's friend until he was stranded on Earth. In the original Marvel comics he was a Decepticon drone until Buster Witwicky reprogrammed him, and in the much later DW comics, he was a Decepticon that switched sides. Given the nature of the character described for the movie, it seems that he has slightly more in common with these uses of the name than the uses presented in Armada (similar only in that he combined with Optimus), Energon (similar only in that he could combine with someone), or Cybertron (similar only in that... well, not really similar at all).

Chromia is a a new character

Chromia appeared in one episode of the first season of the original series along with Elita-1, Firestar, and Moonracer. I don't recall if there have been any American toys released with the name, but I believe there have been some Japanese ones.

The Doctor is a new Character I dont think that is his real name maybe a code-name and they havent released his real name as of yet.

I think this character will be a Perceptor type character really intellegent.

We already saw this character in package, labeled as "Scalpel". Could be the articles are wrong about his name, but I have a feeling "The Doctor" will be a nickname used on screen (perhaps by the humans) or a situation similar to the last movie's Devastator/Brawl contradiction.

I doubt that the torture master will be all that similar to Perceptor, unless we're talking Shattered-Glass Universe.

Skids is a new Character also

The character is probably as new as Mudflap, but the name was used in G1. The only noteworthy thing about him is, IIRC, in the G1 comics he trapped Ravage at the bottom of a well, and left him there for a long, long, long time.
