Am I the only fanboy that has the jitters due to this pic?

Looks like some kind of double sided alien dagger. But the idea that it's the matrix is interesting and appealing.

It looks far more interesting than the Cube that's for sure but I don't think it's the Matrix.

Maybe the Cube wasn't really the AllSpark but was just a map to the AllSpark? From the previews it looks like Sam starts going crazy and seeing symbols like his Grandfather did but it's right after he touches the remaining fragment of the Cube that Optimus picked up at the end of the first movie. Optimus apperently wants Sam to go crazy sence I have a feeling he's the reason that fragment ended up in Sam's school books.

At any rate, whatever it is, we'll find out when the movie comes out.

You see the Matrix in the first film, still in Optimus's chest, but only briefly but still modelles on the G1 desighn.

Smiggy can you get a screenshot? I want to be sure....

I feel like Bay put that in the trailer for a reason.... unless sam can create weapons based off of Transformer tech....

You know, when the Klingons find out Sam has one of their weapons, they're gonna be majorly pissed off!

As far as the Matrix goes, I think it is safely ensconced in Prime's chest. You notice that none of the others volunteered to take Prime's place when he told them of his plan. I don't think fear was an issue 'cause Ironhide doesn't have any and he should have stepped up to the plate first to offer to do it instead of Prime. I think it was because the others knew that they COULDN'T do what Prime was proposing. The Matrix, in tandem with Primes own spark was likely the only thing that could have done it short of Sams solution of a full-on discharge of the thing. Personally, I think if Prime had merged the All-Spark with the Matrix and his own spark we would all have been witness to the second coming of Primus...but that's just my opinion.

Nope, they never mention him. They had to keep it simple for the non-TF fans, or at least the non-G1 "old school" types. Explaining Primus would have not only thrown a wrench into the All-Spark explanation but it would have taken precious time away from Michaels Bays "Blow-Sh**-Up" festival.

Well, I'll be damned...it's not a Klingon weapon after all! That thing really IS the Matrix. Guess that solves that riddle. Now we just havew to wait for the Movie to see the rest of the context surrounding that thing. From the poiler it looks like it's going to be pretty fascinating how it's explained.
Doesn't sound like any direct mention of Primus but having the original 13 brought into it will be quite cool.

Right now things are purely speculation.
Once the movie is released there will be answers.

That's not the Matrix, that's just his spark chamber. The Matrix was never even mentioned in the first movie so I don't think Optimus even has it otherwise someone would of said something about the Matrix when he talked about his plan to put the AllSpark in with his spark.

I think it was deliberately ignored by the writers in the first movie, thus leaving room to bring it in in the sequel, so I don't think the Matrix is definitely in or out. As Cyber Bishop said, the movie will answer it for us. WE DON'T KNOW.

I think it was the animators putting it in based on the G1 film, but yes it isn't technically the Matrix, but I stil din't think the above is. Is there anything mentioned in the comics or books.

I have no idea what that thing is, but I think it is reasonable to speculate the Matrix, if it does exist, would be much larger than the object Sam is holding.

Going off of the G1 design, the Matrix is about the size of an Autobot's fist. If this scale was true for the movie-verse the Matrix would be larger than Sam. Even if it is smaller, I doubt the Matrix would be as small as the object being held by Sam is.

the entire plot from the novelisation is doing the rounds at the moment, and in there it states that it is indeed the matrix, given to sam by the old dead primes in the vision he has, in order to resurrect optimus
