Am I the only one who is not thrilled with ROTF Jetfire's design?? I've not had time to read through all the posts, this forum is SO HUGE. But I was not too sure when the first pics came out, but now that I have received my movie adaptation...URGH. Old and senile were the ugly words that snuck into my mind...

I personally can't wait to see him on the big screen as well as the Leader toy on my shelf. :D

No, I am also not thriled with it. It was a chance to have a really cool jet Autobot, with an awesome jet pack, and armor, and a cool looking helmet...and they made him old.

I think he looks good.

His face may in a weird way look like an old man, but im sure he doesn't actually act like an old man!

I thought his alt. mode of SR71 Blackbird was a great chice. But yeah, as an old codger he was definitely miswritten. Then again, considering the writers, I didn't expect much.

I agree, with the SR-71 they could have done something great, but this is what we got

So he's old. How do we know about the 'senile' thing? Yoda walked with a cane, but he was still able to bust some slick moves in AOTC.

That's what I'm sayin'. If he is able to throw down when he needs to, then who cares. By the looks of things, he is going to have to.

Maybe Jetfire capitalizes on the 'old and senile pushover' look. That's one way to get your enemy to underestimate you.

Wasn't there some info about the bots in the movie that said Jetfire knew the Decepticon's plan, but he couldn't remember it? And that parts fall off him when he moves? Yeah this is going to be bad.

I've finished reading the "official novel of the blockbuster film" and he can barely remember his name or original mission,...,his drops his missiles and various other parts,...,he does come through in the end and fights, however ends up getting killed and Ratchet then grafts Optimus onto Jetfire...there is no continuity, the writers took bits and pieces from here and there but it makes no sense.

Jetfire's supposed to be an asskicker. Period.

So he fumbles things and has a tendency to be forgetful? I know plenty of clumsy dingbats who can pull through in a pinch.

Yeah, as I said, the writers totally miswrote him, and wasted a badass warrior character in the process. And the way he is written out is also a waste of yet another character...

I haven't seen too much of the CG version, but the toy one is pretty bad, it's basically a SR-71 with a robot hanging underneath it. And in almost every picture of the top they show you a top down view, trying to hide that fact.

I like the idea that we are getting a Jetfire that's not Robotech-ish. But I wish he wasn't the geriatric.

The SR-71 is somewhat similar to the VF-4 from Macross, they could have taken some transformation queues from that

As will I. Who knows? Maybe he'll be a senile delinquent in a cool way.

Im not worried about him being Old, Kup was old and he turned out Badass I think Jetfire is gonna kickass and i think he will give Starscream and a few of the Cons Jets a run for their money.
