The various release dates...

Wikipedia wrote:It has a release date of June 29, 2007 in the United Kingdom and Australia, July 2 in New Zealand and July 4 in the United States and Canada.

Is this right? Is the UK and AUS getting it before the states? I'm sure there's something wrong here...

Nothing wrong. North America is rarely first with movie premiers. Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest came out in Australia and UK first and Spider-man 3 came out in most countries before the USA.

The UK date hasn't been confirmed but the Australian one has. It is also out in a few other countries before the 4th July date.

The .co.uk Movie site said June 29th, but it seems to have vanished now with only a .com site available.

The teaser shown with Spidey 3 here in the UK said July though, so I'm thinking we might not get it till July 27th like was first announced.
I guess we'll have to wait and see.

Yes, I've seen two different trailers in theatres now (the "Hidden" one was tagged onto Spiderman 3 and the first trailer was tagged onto 28 Weeks Later) and both have said simply "July". So, who knows? Maybe the studio doesn't even know!

Why not just make it the same bloody day world wide? How hard can it be? Why make things messy like this? This is one of those little things that really ticks me off! :-x

These days when you can just download a movie a day or 2 after it was released I dunno why they bother with different dates world wide, just tempts people to get it through other means.

I've often wondered about this myself. Global release dates do seem like a good way to reduce the number of downloads.
