Much like what happened in 2007 with the first movie, it has now been officially confirmed that Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen will have an earlier than originally scheduled release date. The movie, which was supposed to open nationally on June 24th will now be opening on June 23rd at midnight.

You mean there were theaters that were not going to show it at midnight on the 23rd? I've been checking theater times and i've counted at least 25 different theaters that were showing it at midnight..

Sadly, my local theater isn't one of them. They aren't even doing an evening preview the day before, like they did for the first movie and Star Trek.

Midnight is 12:00 am, which is the earliest point of the day, not the latest point of the day which would be 11:59 pm.

Understand the difference?

Another way to look at it: You will now be leaving the theater at 2:30 a.m. on the morning of the 23rd.

Unilke last time I will not be doing this AND returning by 10:00 a.m. with my children in tow.

I'm pretty sure that you guys have this mixed up. It's midnight engagements on the 23rd which is technically 12:01am on the 24th. I just double checked the live site, and the times are still the same as they were yesterday.

I've removed the news story until we can get further clarification.

I stand corrected and apologize for posting in error. However, 12:01 am on the 23rd would indicate to me that it was on the early morning of the 23rd, therefore that was my basis for the error.

The 2 things don't really jive with each other.

I see nothing wrong with them listing a movie start time for 12:05 a.m. so why don't they just do it that way to avoid all this misunderstanding. It's not like a movie EVER starts exactly on time anyway.

Man, I was hoping it would be the same as last time, the movie opened on Monday night. I saw the very first showing in the theater at 8 PM.
