Isn't Transformers an American original (The Fiction, G1) besides the Unicron trilogy ?

Well the toys were around in the Japan since the 70s when they were called Diaclone. Check the date stamp on the G1 Soundwave. It has 1974 in alongside one from the 1980s.

Hasbro eventually came across these toys in 1983 at a Tokyo Toy Show and bought the rights to them to release them in North America as Micro Change and Micronauts. Eventually Hasbrow built the G1 show around it through Sunbow that was animated in Japan and S. Korea and written in the US. With TFs Hasbro went from a small toy company to a major player in the marketplace that led to many more success stories to come.

Anyone else want to add/correct these succinct details?
