This and the custom repaints I keep seeing are pant wettingly sick, I just don't understand why Megatron ended up such a schmuck in the movie itself.

At least IDW's movie adaptation got it right with the redeeming rebellion at the end.

Suitably unnerving and intimidating, I must say. I still think he looks like H.R. Giger designed this guy.

SPOILER

Yes, Megatron does fly in tank mode. I really didn't expect them to do that. The Voyager fig is closer to the movie tank design than the leader class.

SPOILER END

I really love the tank mode and the overall look of Megatron's robot mode, but the shrivelled second arm ruins it. I mean, I don't mind asymmetry, but this design goes to the point where it looks like one of those deformed horror film sideshow people was the model for Megs.

I think it makes him look like there were some problems with the resurrection process, as if the guys doing it didn't have everything they needed and had to make do with what they could get. An imperfect resurrection?

Yeah basically he seems to have very little control in that he extends wings, fires boosters at full blast and becomes a big Rocket type thing with enough lift to get in the air but dont expect him to be dogfighting. He's not what you'd call Agile in the air. Watch him Land and you'l see what i mean (he kinda just aims at where he wants to land, kills the boosters and Transforms to stop him overshooting etc).

So he can't really fly anymore? All he can do is aim and blast off? Wow, no wonder he's so pissed... Losing the ability to fly has GOT to be a major thing.

Sorry, but Megatron flies out of Earth's atmosphere and journeys to another planet where the Nemesis has crash landed. The canon arm is not always like that. He has two normal arms but can change his right arm into a canon. This feature had to be removed to make both a robot and vehicle mode.

Nice to see im not the only one who thinks this.If Giger didnt do this he defiantly designed Fallen.

Yeah but what i mean is he's not spinning and pulling Aerial Maneuvers like the first film. He's nowhere near as controlled in the air as an actual Airborne fighter like Starscream. He's Space Capable etc but i liken his movements to a Guided Missile than an actual Plane.
And yeah, in Tankmode he moves just like the Batmobile (ie very fast and powerslidey as apposed to a lumbering tank)

...actually i get it, i know what he is. He's a Landmaster!

Can he fly in robot mode? Starscream can do so, so i guess megatron should be able to...

I dont remember any specific instances of it but he does have the Boosters on his back in robot mode so he may very well be able to.

I think that was more for Controlled jumps etc though. He didnt fly through the air while fighting etc.

This is actually one of my more favorite designs compared to others. The arm doesn't bother me too much, being the other arm is a giant cannon. And I luv the tread feet, just looks like he would crush everything that got in his way. I also prefer him to be a tank verses a Seibertronian Jet. Just more true to his G1 design orgins being a tank really is just a giant gun with wheels. Or better yet treads.

And this alien tank actually looks like a tank verses the Jet looked more like a pitchfork that could fly. Kuddos.
