We know you don't like Bay or his films but man come on, this crap is getting old.

No matter how much the haters bitch about it they will make the movies the way they and the producers want them to.

Deal with it.

It IS actually a fairly funny take on the Transformers. Bee has a disrespectful teenager's sense of humor, Jazz acts like an actual person, Skids and Mudflap love their jobs...

Finally! Entertainment!

Good thing CB has seen this, just so he knows of the troll. A troll who's not good at sarcasm.

But yeah, Bay can be a funny guy.

Did your 3 day vacation give you ample time to think of these useless threads to continually make?

If this keeps up it will not be a 3 day, next is a 7 day. And if voted on bypass the 7 day and go straight to the perma ban.

Some people never learn. You also don't seem to understand how movies work. While directors do have a lot of power, most of their influence is on the set. It's the writers who write the scripts, hence their job titles. Therefore they also write the jokes. Michael Bay does not write the jokes. Of course, I shouldn't expect you of all people to understand the film industry, seeing as how you don't even know that pirating films is completely illegal and immoral.

Bay is notoriously known for plowing thru writer scripts and most times barring them from the set if not totally ignoring any of their suggestions…When many directors and movie personnel were either publicly or secretly advocating for fairness during the writers’ strike, Bay was saying F’em, he didn’t need them anyways…The nerve of some people to tell others they don’t know jack when they them selves are just regurgitating pious platitudes…He’ll never learn eh?

Oh noes, heaven forbid that bay was proactive on this film when he had a deadline to meet of just over a year to make a cgi heavy film.

It's ok not to like him, but to bash him for doing his job is another thing. I know that at my work if I have a deadline to meet and someones not able to do their part of the work I gotta pick up the slack to ake sure it gets done.

Geeez louise….The point is that you have 1 person chastising another person for saying something when what they are suggesting is the wrong thing…Micheal Bay claims to pretty much write outlines for everyone of his movies meaning he has a large part to play in the writing of his movies when it is being explained otherwise…Plus he has many documented cases of him ignoring and simply not getting along with writers in his movies…As for bashing him, I thought people of my ilk were bashing him for “doing his job”? Anyways, it is what it is…Don’t tell people Bay doesn’t have much to do with the writing when he’s known for getting his Nazi-on when it comes to this…

Theres a difference between a 7 page outline and a 500 page script.

Bay may write structural setups for his movies and said he did that for this one because of the strike however the bulk of it all including the sophomoric jokes are written for the most part by Orci, Kurtzman and that other dude they brought on. The first movie was written well before bay got brought on so he wouldnt have had a whole lot of input on the front end anyways.

I personally, based on the first movie (havn't seen ROTF yet), would give him an 8 out of 10. I think he adds a pretty good amount of humor.

As far as what everyone else is talking about...everyone is entitled to their own opinion..thats what makes the world go round. Some people like the movies, some don't, it doesnt really matter either way. All that Micheal Bay has done is create another universe of Transformers. Just like Armada, Energon, RID, Animated, ect...

There are pretty much two reasons as to why he does things the way he does:

1. He's loaded, he's incharge, he can.

2. Even though we are all die-hard Transformers fans, we aren't the only target audience. When you spend the kind of money they spent to make these movies, you have to make something that is appealing to the general public, and the fans. If you don't make it appealing, its much harder to make it profitable.

Dude, you must know nothing about Micheal Bay...I kinda envy you...
You must have never seen a Micheal Bay movie other than TF if you think he has nothing to do with the "sophomoric" comedy in his movies...You really know nothing about this guy and how big of a control freak he is ABOUT EVERYTHING (which most has been documented)...I guess I can understand how you put a spoon to your mouth filled with this stuff now...I guess you don't know about how Orci and company had to re-write $hit over and over for Bay's liking or that he reportedly never listened to them (or just straight shafted them) onset...It's must be nice being you...

It must be nice to be a condescending prick as well. Writers write thats what they do. Directors direct. They make changes here and there and hell even the actors ad lib ****.

Don't presume to understand what I know. You act as though bay is the only one who does stuff like this.

God I sincerely wish I could be one of the "high and mighty real fans" just so I could know everything about everything.

Oh and how was your lunch with him the other day since you seem so close and know everything there is to know on a personal basis, not just what you've read on wiki and or other sights that may skew things to their liking.

The truth hurts doesn’t it? Think about all the vitriol you just spat @ me and imagine me having the same amount only for Bay and those who support him unquestionably…You are me, only my frustration is focused, unlike most trolls I guess^^…

Like I said I knew Bay was a hack from jumpstreet, but I didn’t care until he got handed source material I truly cared about…I kept up with all the pre-production, and the other “inside baseball” stuff about the movie on all the buzz sites (Even his own forum where he posted regularly)…I periodically read stuff on Bay, and I formed an opinion that was only reinforced by the movie…If wanting a movie beyond a generic generality, if wanting to take my son to something that we could connect with based on what TF meant to me as a child, if THAT is being High and Mighty, then tea and crumpet my a$$ with the quickness…

spoilers wrote:I have to say I agree wholeheartedly with the OP.
The only thing I laughed at in RotF was the twins because they had a funny dynamic on-screen. Beyond that, I found the humor was tragically low-brow, and I laugh at dead-baby jokes.

The placement couldn't have been worse. There is no reason to intersperse an action sequence with comic relief. All it serves to do is distract from what's actually happening.

Ok, I get it, Sam's mother is a bit kooky. That's not funny. She's caricatured to the point of being sub-human, like some kind of hideous mutant personality inside a slightly milfy body.

Great, a robot humping a person's leg. AND DAWGZ HUMPAN!!!1
AND ONE OF THE DAWGZ IS A CHIHUAHUA AND ITS HUMPIN' A BULLDOG!!!111eleventymillien
That's so far out of left field it- no wait, that's utter ****. Why would a robot hump a person's leg? It wouldn't, the joke is so obviously contrived that it physically hurt to watch. Worse still was that other people in the theatre laughed, and my faith in humanity was dealt another crushing blow.

If I want to see dogs humping each other I'll sit around the house and watch my boxers fight. There's nothing remotely funny about it.

I did find the twins funny, and I enjoyed the way they bounced jokes off of one another, and made funny retorts. Their friendly brutality was actually amusing on a remotely intellectual level.

It's one thing for a movie to have low-brow humor, but as was stated above this was downright sophomoric. It's something totally different to write with that kind of contempt for your audiences intelligence and attention span.
