I feel bad for Sideways (spoilers)

I just read his toy description about an hour ago. A decepticon who's afraid of everything, and all he was trying to do was get the hell away from the autobots, when Sideswipe came in and cut him in half... poor guy!

Sad yeah, I really liked his design and his sweet aftermarket paint job and I wish he had escaped or at least givin a good fight scene with the bikes or Sideswipe.

Yeah, such a waste of a character. Whats with these Micheal-bay-based autobots and their Take-no-prisoners attitude?

For all their supposed better disposition for war, the Decepticons are pretty much pushovers in ROTF.

I read somewhere that Demolisher was placed where he was to protect Sideways (not sideways in general, but Decepticons). It makes sense to because as soon and Dem emerges Sideways makes a run for it, but sadly, is detected. This one thing is part of what makes the Autobots look like bullies. I mean i gues for an Autobot it's there job to make sure they don't hurt anyone but still.

I agree. The Autobots seemed a little... draconian with their operation in Shanghai. I quite liked Demolishor, and his little colony didn't seem to be too dangerous, considering they were literally living on the streets. They would have to be confronted sooner or later, but I think Bay got carried away there.

Apparently, Bay has a hard time finding a medium.

In the first movie, the Decepticons wiped the floor with the Autobots most of the time.
In this movie, the tables were turned.

But personally, I perfer more dead baddies than dead good guys.

I don't know. I can't decide.
I'm do like more pacifist Autobots, but then again I'd like them to LIVE.

Yeah, I agree as well. Demolisher and Sideways were just laying low after they found out that Megatron was defeated. It is stated that Demolisher is the leader and protector of the small Decepticon community in China since he is a huge bot. I wished Sideways would have put up a fight at least, and it would be cool to see Sideways vs Sideswipe.

While yes, he's scene in ROTF was disappointing at least in the game he's a good character(he's my favourite)

Sideways was another excuse to extend the toy line. That's all.

The reason for that may be because, for the two years between movies, their true leader was dead at the bottom of the ocean, and their supposed leader was nowhere to be found. Groups that don't have a leader tend to be little more than the proverbial chickens missing their heads.

I loved Sideways in the Armada series, and I still do as you can see from my name. They shouldnt have killed him off so early, or so easily. The Decepticons were really a large shooting range for the Autobots in this movie. I was completely disappointed when I counted so few Autobots died while almost every Decepticon died.

In the novelization, he does put up quite a fight, even pretty much stopping the Arcee bikes in their combined mode in their tracks, and it takes Sideswipe a good bit more effort to defeat him.

and thats why books are better well for story wise but movies for the sick visuals

I suppose Bay put Sideways in for a character to kill off. Probably to mash in every character he possibly could for the movie.

Why couldnt they have just made up some name for him? Why did he have to be Sideways?

I have a feeling in the next movie we are going to see many more fairly known characters and have them destroyed. Bay loves to kill all the Transformers that are usually supposed to have larger roles. My thoughts. Soundwaves dying in the next movie, but this isnt the place for that topic.
