Unnecessary things in ROTF, TF made into a joke?

I hope this doesn't get viewed as another Michael Bay bashing thread, because it's not. I commend Michael Bay for improving on alot of things. Like, the human to robot ratio seemed alot better this time (felt like I saw more robots than humans squabbling). Robot Action. So on and etc.

BUT, I noticed that Bay couldn't help himself from getting involved in places he felt needed a dirty joke. Or dumb joke.

For example, (I know this has been thrown around like a ragdoll already, but..) Devastator's balls. Maybe it couldn't be avoided because there WAS a wrecking ball truck, or I guess there was 2 since there was two balls. But then to linger on them during that one scene for so long, and then to top it off have Simmons scream SCROTUM as if we didn't catch it the first time.

Then theres Wheelie humping Mikaela's leg. I guess most creatures in this [universe] would have that animal need to hump something? They walk like us, talk like us, and i guess hump like us? Or maybe Wheelie is more animal compared to his transformers brethren. Tho, if not, Transformers don't reproduce the same way we do, so what pleasure sensors is he pleasing down there? I UNDERSTAND this is just a movie, but I am just questioning the necessity of things like this.

The more I see stuff like that, I feel like he is turning Transformers into a joke.

But then i'm reminded that Transformers is a series based on a toy. For kids. Why should anybody be limited to making Transformers a serious type movie? The cartoon series was a laugh at many times.

Maybe i'm just trying to poke at the TYPE of jokes Bay makes. He needs some jokes in there that aren't just quick and low/dumb. He needs to stop adding his sense of humor. Then again, he prolly does it cuz he knows theres people out there that love that stuff. So "oh well".

I just feel that these little things degenerates the movie a little bit. It accounted for only a little bit of the movie, so thats why I said a little bit.

Nothing can be done about, and nothing really needs to be done with it. It didn't ruin the movie's success as we can all see, but just wanted to put something out there in the internets for people to skim over.

Okay, I thought Devastators balls was pretty funny.
Unnessesary, buy funny.

And, I think Wheelie was just trying to suck up to Mikaela.
So she wouldn't hit him again when he became an Autobot.

Some jokes where funny, other where dumb. I really liked Simmons "What your about to see is top-secret. Do NOT tell my mother."

I agree that there was some unnecessary stuff in terms of humor.

However, I also think that I'm at the age where some stuff just isn't funny in the same way to me anymore. Pre-teens and some teenagers were eating those jokes up.

I wish they kept the same tone and feel of the first one, in ROTF it seemed there was a joke every 3 seconds, i thought the first one seemed more serious and had the jokes spread out maybe every 15-20 min there would be a joke and the transformations looked a lot better in the first one.

I agree. There were quite a few teens at my showing and they laughed a lot harder at some of the scenes than the adults.

What on Earth was the point of Simmons removing his pants and showing us a close up of his butt? That was not funny, but disgusting. It literally made me feel very nauseous seeing that.

And what was the in-story reason he had to remove them?

I agree there were some funny jokes. But then there was also Leo. And he was one big sad joke. As a character and as comic relief.

I guess its aimed at teens. But comic books are supposedly aimed at teens (or maybe not nowadays? teen reading, ha?) and the comic IDW series is serious.

Maybe thats what I was trying to get at all along! I kinda hoped for an IDW Transformers type of movie.

I am very curious about that too. I guess he was getting into his change of costume for the museum and didn't care he was undressing in public. Tho... i definitely would put that in the VERY unnecessary scenes that was placed in the movie.

The funniest part of that scene was the reaction of the men sitting nearby to me. About 7 or 8 seats to my left just at that moment when we are rudely exposed to Simmons's ass, a guy shouts out in homophobic alarm; "OH HELL NO!" That in itself was kind of funny. :P But you're right that scene was extremely harsh on the eyes.

Were they unnessasary? Sure. Where they funny as hell? Absolutely. My favorite part was when Sams mom was high and she was telling everyone at the college how she heard Sam "Get his cherry popped"! I'm still laughing thiat one off!

It was quite an interesting lesson in human psych. I went and saw it at a later edition in a theatre where the majority of people were in their mid 20s and older.

The laughs that did come out at the "balls" moment seemed forced.

It was like Jetfire, at first his cantankerous nature was amusing, and I'll always have a giggle when someone says bugger, but it just went on and on and on.

I think anyone with a Y chromosome under the age of 18 will love this movie.

The humour in the first one was great. This seemed to be "lets see how many rude and borderline racist jokes I can slip in" sort of thing.

Humour made me laugh overall. The dogs humping was not funny or necessary. And thh gold tooth on the bro's was also not funny, kind of stupid.
