Didn't Michael Bay say that the main reason Arcee didn't make it into the first film was because he didn't want to put her in a movie until they could come up with a reasonable explaination for why there would be female transformers? I was actually looking forward to seeing what they had come up with when I found out she was going to be in ROTF...

But nothing at all was mentioned about it...

I thought about that as well during the movie. That there had been no discussion given to the topic of female bots, they were just present now with no explanation.

While I could care less about what explanation they actually come up with, I just wonder about the responses the fans receive to questions. Another example being Barricade from the first movie, and the writers promising he was a thread to the sequel, then he doesn't even show up and we get nada. It's this behavior that bothers me, not the actual fact there is no explanation this time vs last time about female bots.

Yeah, as far as I'm concerned, Arcee doesn't really NEED an explanation...But they made such a big deal about it with the last one I was surprised they didn't offer one since they decided to put her in...

Well Alice the pretender is a female, or at least appears to be. And someone is popping out hatchling baby Decepticons on Nemesis. (They stole my Flare's ability...Damn it.) So unlike the first movie, Simmons had it wrong. And the transformers are not "Non-biological Extraterrestrials". They seem to be very biological.
