After he recovered from the head trauma Ironhide inflicted on the freewayduring the chase for the cube, Barricade was ordered by Starscream to go on a fact-finding mission - that lasted for months - that eventually allowed him to learn that more autobots had arrived on Earth to arm against the planned recoperative operation Starscream had up his sleeve. He informed Starscream of NEST's existance, and was even able to elude them the entire time he'd been active post-Mission City.
He eventually scanned a new alternate mode since his Police Cruiser mode was compromized, perhaps traveling to China elusively via car shipment cargo vessel. It was in Shanghai that he began new mission parameters with the ancient Demolishor: to locate the Sun Harvester and resurrect Megatron in any way possible - propagating REVENGE on the human race.
When Demolishor was engaged by NEST troops (including Ironhide & Optimus Prime), Barricade made a break for it, only to be fully engaged by Acree, the twins, and eventually Sideswipe... who promptly destroyed him beyond any repair.
That's right everyone - Barricade is "Sideways"... we all know it.
But back to the news at hand: This is going to be a great release. From what I understand, the team behind almost all of Ridley Scott's films is working on the DVD/Blu-Ray release, which means EVERY special feature, as well as (hopefully) commentary by others besides Bay himself will be on these discs. This also means we might see less store-exclusive cases & content, which would do us well as the first film's releases got a bit crazy.
