The Hollywood Reporter has reported that Activsion has signed both Shia LaBeouf and Megan Fox the voices of their characters from the Michael Bay Transformers Movie to the upcoming Transformers game, based on the movie.
The article also makes mention that Activsion also made the decision to hire Flint Dille, one of the writers of the original cartoon, to write the story for the game.
"Having a sound-alike or generic look-alike for Sam would not have had the same impact or given the player the same level of impressiveness as getting the real thing. The same holds true for Megan Fox's character, Mikaela Baines. All of these elements help weave the illusion that the game is really an extension of the film and intellectual property, and having them all synched to one another only benefits the end user".

New Transformers TV Trailer
During the broadcast of American Idol a new TV trailer premiered on the eve of the final Transformers trailer. Enjoy!

Yes, there's already a thread about the trailer.
It's good that they're trying to add a sense of authenticity to the game by hiring the movie actors. It shows a degree of thought from Activision, I think.

I'm impressed. The original cast members sounded fantastic on Spider-Man 3 on the Wii, so there's no reason why the cast shouldn't do the same for the TF game.
All I ask is...none of the repetitive crap that was on S-M 3...I swear if they had repeated their lines one more time, I was going to break the Wii and my TV.
At one point, Spider-Man said "Maybe I should see what J.J. has for me" 27 times. I **** you not, 27!
....that alone would give the game a lower rating from me.
Then when you factor in the controls.... (I had to give it a C+)
....let's hope the TF Game is a hell of a lot better.
Both this and S-M 3 were made by Activision iirc...

What episodes did Flint Dille do? Should I be excited or fearful?

I hope news like this coming out now doesn't mean that they are just now taking care of details such as a writer and voice actors. With barely over a month before scheduled release I really hope that's not the case. Maybe I'm crazy but that just doesn't seem like the way things are normally done, at least not for good games. (But I'm still going to buy the Cybertron Edition...)

Well, he did write the movie for starters...
Although, honestly, when he's doing interviews, you can tell that there's a LOT he's forgotten about Transformers... so it could go either way.

I was kinda hoping the humans would be left out of the game, but I guess it does make sense in the end.
Btw, doesn't it seem kind of late to be making (or at least announcing) these decisions? I mean the game is due out in June! It's like making a blockbuster movie and not announcing all of your cast members even 47 days out from it's release....

Ho ho. Depending how annoying the humans are in the movie, I may have to 'borrow a cop car and hunt them down' in this game. I'm sure you know which car I have in mind. I like movie games where they use the same voice actors for the movie and the game.

I could care less for the human element, so LaBeouf and Fox mean little to me. Bringing Dille in, regardless of how long it's been, makes me quite happy.
This simply solidifies my want for the game, versus my want for the movie.

So, they're more interested in the "autheticity" of the humans' voices than they are for Transformers. Why am I not surprised?

Would you rather they have Weaving as Megatron in the game than Welker? Then they'd be authentic with the movie.

Actually, yes.

Oh. All right then.
