Those of you who saw Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen are sure to remember the scene in which Agent Simmons, Sam, Mikaela, Leo and Wheelie discovered Jetfire in the Smithsonian's National Air and Space Museum.

There is now a special Transformers ROTF exhibit on display that features many of the props from the movie. It is located at Udvar Hazy Center of the National Air and Space Museum right outside of Washington, DC at Dulles Airport.

TFW2005's curlup recently visited this display and recounted his experiences here.

We have mirrored these images for your convenience.

Also of note is an Air and Space Museum presentation later this month. On August 27th, there will be a special lecture entitled Transformers: Cold War Toys for Boys from 12:30 TO 12:45 PM. For more information, click here.

That's awesome! Especially that Wheelie leg prop, I love stuff like that! Is this permanent? And who's the weird colored Jetfire toy?

Also, do they happen to have Jetfire's cane on display? It might of just been astounding CGI work, but I'm pretty sure for some shots in the boneyard, they had a giant bottom half of Jetfires cane that was real, for the shots with the humans, you could see Jetfire's cane in front of them shaking around like he was moving.

Good question; looks like it's a good reason to go back, and it'd be nice to know how long this thing will be on display.

I'm guessing it's a toy prototype.

Hmm, first it's Grimlock in the Natural History Museum in London, now Starscream, Jetfire, and Wheelie have gone to the Smithsonian. Any chance Prime and Megs will be enshrined somewhere soon? ;;)

That funkily coloured Jetfire is a hard prototype. Basically, something that shows that the mould works.

Also funky is the sheer amount of stuff.

Multicolored Jetfire is snazzy.

For those of you unfamiliar with the Udvar-Hazy museum at Dulles Airport near DC, there is NO DESERT outside those hangar doors with lots of C-141s sitting outside as portrayed in the film :)

It's almost like they warped all the way to Davis-Monthan AFB in Arizona walking out of those hangar doors into the AMARC lot and the boneyard. Still very cool though!

Poo. I was hoping for a Leader Prime and Jetfire Costco exclusive similar to Costco Prime/Overload scheme;

I absolutely love the Smithsonian museums and stuff like this is the reason why.

I make sure to check out the Air and Space Museum every time I am in the DC area.

Thats pretty cool. I like how they have both the old and new figures for the characters. That way people can see what TF are suppose to look like. "Here we have the original version of the character, and here is the bayformer gobot version". Is the white Jetfire a prototype or an upcoming repaint? Never seen it before.

Hmm. This'd be a good time to visit, if only for the awesome SR-71 B-) . Missed it during my last visit to DC... #-o

No word in the exhibit on how incredibly bone-headed it was to have them portray the A/S museum in the middle of the desert.
