I never understood the whole powered up thing in the movie. So basically parts can be transferred via electrical charge or is it some special power that Jetfire had?

No, or at least thats not how it seemed to pan out in the film. What seems to be the deal is Jetfire ripped out his core...pretty much terminating himself. Then Ratchet called Jolt over, hooked prime up to Jetfires remains kind of how you would hook up a car for a jump....and the next thing you know Prime absorbs Jetfires parts. Not really a fusion then it is an upgrade, and even then it only lasts for the duration of the movies climatic battle. But it does pose a question....


As long as Jolt is around to supply the hook up, does this application work across the board with any autobots? Or can only Prime do this being well....a "Prime".
