Real Devastator has found an auction reporting that is is selling the real 2005 Saleen Mustang police car that represented Barricade.

The Auction is here

The Description of the auction reads:
[quote]2005 Saleen Mustang - "Barricade" from Transformers
Miles: 4,550
Vin# 1ZVFT82H755115527

This is actually the screen used V8 Barricade as seen in the Movie Transfomers! Great main character movie car! There were only three of these cars built for the movie! Excellent long term collectible….

One of the most recognizable and cult classic Mustangs ever built. Right up there with the “Bullitt” car and the “Gone in 60 Seconds” Mustang! Don’t pass on a chance to own a serious piece of movie history!

Saleen Inc. teamed up with DreamWorks and Hasbro to design and produce several vehicles for the hit movie “Transformers.” After months of conceptual development, Saleen’s Troy production facility took numerous black-on-black S281 Extremes right off of the production line to star as Decepticon hunter, “Barricade,” in the movie.

The movie car built as “Barricade” was constructed as a Saleen and to give the character its evil alter ego, Dream Works also outfitted each Extreme as a Decepticon police car, including a push bar, white doors, emergency lights and Transformers/Police badging.

Condition: Is in very good condition with some minimal screen use wear. Drives and handles excellent. Powered by a Mustang 4.6 liter Saleen S281 motor and an excellent shifting 5 speed.

Note: This car can be previewed only in Lubbock, Texas. Note: This car can be previewed only in Lubbock, Texas. Please call (310) 322-7767 for a preview appointment. The buyer will be responsible for removing the vehicle from Texas.

Wow...I'm a huge mustang fan and this would be like the ultimate collectible.. Lubbock isn't that far from where I live, I might take a road trip up there and check it out.

The current bid is at $9,000 bucks.. I know the engine alone is almost worth that.. Wonder what his reserve will be :P I have been looking for a newer model Mustang.. I think I might actually give this guy a call for more information. :APPLAUSE:

Wow.. I'd love to own that. I'd sell my first born for that.. but.. I'd be so afraid to drive it. I also don't know how Street Legal that is. Wouldn't you be pulled over for impersonating an officer?

Really awesome though.

My company outfits emergency vehicles with lighting, computer equipment etc. We are currently in the market for a demonstration vehicle so i emailed my boss this link. He loves the idea of using this instead of a Crown Vic. Were placing a bid!!

A guy down the street from me has the 302 Extreme. If you guys want an iconic Mustang check out the Elanor from Gone In 60 Seconds.

I guess now that we're on the iconic cars subject, anyone else ever want to get an 85 Trans AM and make it look like Kit?

That was a drone.(or nameless decepticon) Not Barricade.

Nope, it's an 85 IROC Z. And I do love it. I went to the GM Nationals this year, and sat in a bunch of 2010s including the "Black" edition. I did however, enter to win a 2010 SS (Which features a 6.2L V8 SFI engine, with a 6 speed auto clutch.

As for my IROC, it is a V8 smallblock. Mods include K&N air intake, and Goodyear Eagle radials. I also am soon getting a Flowmaster exhaust manifold for it.

Do you mean Flowmaster headers? Or Replacement flomaster cat back exhaust? I don't believe flowmaster makes replacment exhaust manifolds. No point.

Yea that was my mistake I was going to edit that. It's just the pipes. It's called Dual Rear Exit Exhaust Systems. DOR for short. It's a split end pipe. 16 gauge, so exhaust flow is obviously a little more optimized. Plus, yes it does look and sound good.

His star power sure didn't help his selling price much. Autoblog reported the sale final at 30,000+6,000 buyer premium. That's really not the chunk of change I'd imagine getting the film model for. Especially since he's so sinister looking. Maybe if he'd actually had the S281 Extreme motor instead of the NA'ed motor.

Yes you could. If itwere to be driven on the street just how it is, you could be charged with impersonating a police officer. The Police decal on the side would need to be either removed, or covered while driving, and the lightbar either need to be covered, or wired in a way that it would not operate while the vehile was driving. The doors being white could also present a problem. In Califorina, black body with white doors are reserved for law enforcment, so the whole thing just screams "Pull me over!"

Well the market right now is crap for custom cars, (well cars in general) so its no surprise that he didn't bring in the big bucks.
Also, it should have had the supercharged motor. Acording to the article they pulled it directly from the assembly line, and if its a real "Extreme", that means it has the supercharged 4.6 motor.

$30,000? Not bad, but I'm not allowed to drive around in a car that says "POLICE" w/ lightbar on top in NYC, unless I'm handcuffed in the backseat! Here's a $250 version, that won't get you arrested, & you can still Drift while steering it & it's got 14 Flashing LEDs w/ a sick looking Lightbar!!
