ROTF - Anyone else notice the framerate drop?

Not sure if this was brought up already...
I wasn't sure if it's just me, but I remember while I was watching ROTF in theatres, there were a few shots that seemed.... incomplete.

These are 3 I remember:

1. The elevated shot when that weird brain analyzing decepticon flies down to Sam as Megatron holds him down. The framerate seemed really jerky.

2. When Megatron kills Optimus and puts him down, in the far shot, the shadows were either too light or missing from the two. Something just doesn't look right. This is the shot right after Sam witnessing it from behind a log and before Optimus very slowly falls on the ground and the camera tilts 90 degrees.

3. When JetOptimus fights the Fallen on the ground, the framerate seems to drop significantly. This is the shot after the two fall on columns and JetOptimus fires his gun at Fallen knocking him into a wall.

Anyone else notice these? I almost felt like it might have been ILM "cutting corners" or rushing.

Actually I *did* notice the drop in quality of CGI. Not sure if it's a framerate issue or not. Hadn't thought of it that way.

It was, oddly enough, *less* noticeable to me on Imax than on regular screen. I remember the last scene, where Megatron calls Starscream over to him, looking downright *awful*. I'd say _clash of the titans_-esque, but not quite *that* bad.

I'm curious to see how it will look on DVD, honestly.

HK, sensitive eyeballs.

I'm glad someone semi noticed.

Yeah, I'll agree that the CGI itself was dropped in quality too.

I could rant about all the issues like close up tranformations, quick cuts, and recycling decepticons, but I'm sure someone already did.

I couldn't tell, my eyes were busy bleeding from sitting too close to the screen and trying to keep up with all the camera match moves.

But I wouldn't be surprised, especially if they rendered these scenes after they blew up their computers trying to render realistic particle physics of Robots underwater verses just key animating it and compositing it in post. People these days I swear. I bet this team is the same team thats going to try to model a to scale Unicron and try to render it in the highest poly rate because Bay deems it so. #-o

#-o Is exactly what I feel too.

I didn't notice anything as far as framerate goes, and I'm pretty quick at noticing that kind of stuff. It's obvious though that in some shots the CGI drops in quality. When you've got that much CGI, you can't be perfect all the time. I think the only part where the CGI drops that really makes you notice is when Optimus says "Let's, roll!". I think that whole transformation was a little shaky somehow, other than that I thought they did great (Especially on Devastator!!)

All in all, I kinda felt the movie was rushed and probably needed a tad bit more work relating to the CGI rendering. I did noticed the CGI quality dropped when Prime and the Fallen was fighting over the staff.

Upon viewing it on DVD (don't have bluray), I still see the same mistakes (as expected like Brawl's name in TF1) particularly these 2 scenes:
(I think these times are correct)

1:02:08 (Megatron dropping Optimus after impaling him)
Optimus and Megatron don't seem "blended" into the environment. As if reflections were missing or some color range.

2:18:52 (Jet Optimus fighting Fallen)
It looks like stop photography. Every motion looks so jagged like they forgot to turn on motion blur.

I've done some 3d modeling and animation work myself. Maybe that's why I can see this.

All the talk about cutting corners really shows: Recycling decepticons, not showing many transformations of newer robots (the racist Twins never actually transformed even after all that screen time), lots of protoforms, the constructicon army BS...

I noticed, thatsomthing was missing in the part where Megatron kills optimus, and In the scene where Jetfiremusprime shoots the Fallen in that scene, he just flys back way too far, and it looks like a string just pulled him back.

Yeah, I noticed. I noticed a few other quirks throughout but I haven't seen it since it was on the big screen so I've quickly forgotten that filth.
