Man it would be so stereo-typical of them to kill him off. "The whole black guy dies first thing"

*facepalms* Don't be a tool.
It has nothing to do with race, of any kind. No one knows for sure whether or not he dies. The chances are good, yes, but we still don't know if it's definite.
Seriously, before you post something...think it through.
....racism in a TF movie? You're being absolutely ridiculous.

Jazz a black guy?
Oh. My. Gott.
I've seen it all, but this has got to be the most hilarious thing I've seen yet. Note hilarious as in [/sarcasm]
First of all I just don't see how someone can think like so, and second, I'm betting Tyrese lives throughout the movie. Happy now?

Yes, because Jazz is, in fact, of African desent.
Despite the fact that he comes from a planet where A) "Black" refers to a paintjob, and B) There are two races: AUTOBOT and DECEPTICON.
If the black guy died first, then it'd be Ironhide, who is, in fact, colored with baclok paint.
Don't be a tool, we discourage that sort of thing.

Oh lighten up, it was funny.
It wasn't even remotely funny because he was entirely serious. Until he comes in here and says it was all a joke, we have no reason not to take him seriously.
You have to admit, it's a pretty ridiculous sentimentality.

Ok look it was kind of a joke alright, the Transformers doesn't even have the slightest smell of racism ok so yeah lighten up. But I am serious about the main question though, I mean hes the smallest Transformer in the movie and Megatron just stomped on him like a toy in the trailer so is he gonna die or not?!

Well then I stand corrected and I owe you an apology. However, in the future, clarifying that it's a joke would help. I'm not the only one who took it seriously.
And as to whether or not Jazz dies....
*spoiler space*
according to the leaked script, yes. He dies. However, the trailer makes it appear that it's quite a bit more harsh than originally planned.
*end spoiler space*

Guys, I worked on a project with the Transformers license. I've seen the movie, and studied all the characters in detail. I can tell you this:
Jazz is a black sterotype, and he does die. He says, "Oh snap" and makes references to his "bangin' sound system" regularly. He is voiced by a black actor who was encouraged to sound "like Martin Lawrence." His feet were originally designed to resemble basketball sneakers, and there is even a portion of the film where he breakdances after a victory.
I spoke with an actor who portrayed Jazz in the production I worked on, not the same man as in the movie. One of his first going-into-battle lines was "Aww yeah, Jibby-Jazz up on the mike, y'all!"
There is no question in my mind that his character is overtly stereotypical, if not racist. I wish I was making this up.
And if anyone was wondering, the leaked script is completely accurate.

So... he's basically G1 Jazz and G1 Blaster combined into one?

Good idea, Chris. It seemed extremely obvious to me, but I've been skeptical about the whole production since I first watched it.
I'm one of the people who actually likes the new designs, and my reasons for disliking aspects of this film go well beyond aesthetics. There is a MAJOR problem with the film that fans are presently unaware of, and won't realize until they're already sitting in the theater. I won't go into it for fear that Hasbro is watching.
Perhaps Jazz isn't a black sterotype per say, but he certainly is an "urban youth" sterotype.

When did you see the movie? Also, I'd like to know the problem...you can private message it to me, if you'd like, hmmm? Haha...as far as Jazz being "stereotypical"...come on...he's freaking Jazz!

I saw the movie about two months ago. It was almost finished except for some editing, much like a director's cut. Again, I'd rather not talk about the problem with the movie, as the success of my production depends heavily on the success of the film.

Haha, fair enough, fair enough.
