yes the are in the movie the matrix thingy sends out a shockwave that turns every electronic divice in the radius into objectformers

not quite, i belive that was happens (in that draft anyway) is that

any electronic device that gets near to the cube gets life breathed into it, so when starscream flies down a street holding it the things in the shops along the street come to life, and also the truck full of furbies does too
