Because they even bothered to change it, assuming it WAS changed, meant that there was a problem with the first transformation. Bay had said that he wanted no morphing/bullsh*t transformation (like Megatron transforming from a large robot into a small Walther PPK), so if they changed Optimus' transformation it may have been bullsh*t in the first movie.
The real issue I am trying to raise is that the second transformation, assuming it HAS been changed, would provide a better template from which to create an even BETTER leader class Optimus toy. The 2007 leader class Optimus had the back wheels retract onto the thighs poorly, trying to imitate what happened on screen in the first movie. The second leader class toy abandons the idea of trying to copy the movie's transformation in that area, but now 2009 leader class Optimus has no waist joint and still a lot of back kibble. If Optimus DOES have a new transformation in ROTF, which to me it looks like it does, I think this new transformation would be a better model for the final leader class Bayformer Optimus of the third movie. And you KNOW they'll release a new one.
I just wish we could see Optimus transform without any obstructions or awkward camera angles. They always zoom in on him or rotate around him with things between the camera and Optimus when he transforms. Probably to hide the fact that his transformation is bullsh*t, and Bay lied.
