Does this game (the PS2 version) have a 2 player splitscreen mode? I've seen video of a multiplayer mode (not sure for which platform) where its just a bunch of TFs running around fighting--can this mode be played splitscreen offline (maybe against the AI or one against one) on the ps2 version?
(I hope this is the right subforum!)

The only ps2 multiplayer mode is a co-op, not split-screen battle where a series of enemies comes, you defeat them, you move on to the next "phase", which is just the exact same area and more bad guys come, and so on. I don't know what happens (if anything) online.

I own the PS2 version just because I hadn't picked up any next gen systems and saw it was cheap enough to give a whirl. It has two multiple(2) players. In the main game one player can play as the character for the missions, the second gets play as a drone that helps out if they press start. (which if you are playing alone you can still have the second player jump in to steal energy from them.) It's a beat em up style game with a few vechile stages. You only transform to perform special attacks for most part otherwise. (which the wii version is the same as the PS2 version.)
There's a death match mode, but I never bothered playing it. I just ran the missions, as it gave me and my nephew a game to play together. I didn't want to play the death match since he can be a sore loser at times hehe. The death match mode allows you pick Prime, Bumble bee and Ironhide, and Starscream, Sideways and Megatron for the decepticons. Which are all same bots you use for the main game. (Jetfire is playable briefly in a mission too. It's amusing see all the enermies from his point of view.) I's not a bad game, but it's not a great game either.
Id like see how good the next gen versions are, but I'll snag a copy of it later play at my brothers house heh.
