Did the old man say something like "I think Someones At the door." Was it cut? I have the Standard DVD Imax edition (2 disc).

I guess I don't quite follow. Are you talking about the RotF movie?

No, you are not going crazy, though I applaud you for remember that within the entire movie....kuddos. I don't recall it, though again I think my eyes were bleeding already.
With any DVD or even movie release, there is continual editing. I don't understand why either, but it just happens. Best example is Jurassic Park, I saw an advance screening back in my youth (Yes, it's been that long since the movie first came out in theaters) and there were snippets of dialogue edited or replaced with other shots. However, those same initial shots made it to other adaptations, example:
The Scene were Ian and Grant are in the car whilst it's raining outside, Ian asks Grant if he's in a serious relationship with Laura Derns character, to which he says yes....but also says no. Malcom replies, "Well which is it yes or no?" Then the power goes off.
Another snippet was when the T-Rex went to there car first, and Grant tells Ian not to move. Ian replies, "Oh, I might not move again in my life." Just as the Rex looks into his window.
So, your not crazy. And this happens, just the way it is. I really don't know why, one cause may be to cut away as much repetitive dialogue as possible, another may be within the first opening week of some films pressured to make a release date, the film that makes it into theaters is still being edited, in which the final final final edit is then circulated in whilst the other missing footage is cut out and then forgotten. In cases of just banter in FX driven films, it's pretty common. Most of this footage wont make the deleted scenes in the DVD release because sure enough, there are too many cut scenes with more meat on them, or some DVD's just don't release the footage.
Hope this sets your mind at ease...
Josh

I just realized that that little scene is missing.
Never thought about it before.
With the Jurassic park, I think there was a scene where Laura grabbed a leaf, and tht was cut too.
I dunno. I heard about, never saw it. I wasn't born yet when it came out.

Yup. Your correct. It was in a few behind the scene type shows. She grabs a really big leaf while their driving in the jeep. Right before they stop in the middle of the field before they get there first glimpse of the dinosaurs.
"This plant has been extinct since the cretatious period!"

How strange, because I have this film on VHS as well and I could have sworn they kept that scene. They also keep it in circulation on most televised airings.....have to check out the DVD to see if they cut it or kept it. Oh these editors....

I remember that scene too, I think they kept it in. Wait I'm recovering a memory here. There was another scene where she examines a plant that the sick Triceratops had eaten. Unless I'm confusing it with the book.

No thats still in there, she goes on about West Indian something or other....they cut out the explanation about the gullet stones, which was scripted but to my knowledge never shot. That is in the book though....along with so much else.
Fun fact, the Pteranodon attack and Spinosaur boat chase were actually inspired from the first book, which has a Pterasaur attack as well as a river raft chase with the T-Rex. The raft chase also inspired the Universal Park ride, which features conceptual art of the ride in the first film, during the slide show after the Raptors had their chow.
