Los Angelas Times managed to get hold of Michael Bay, the Director of Transformers Live Action Movies, as well as his Sound crew to talk about sound mixing, sound editing for the Transformers Revenge of The Fallen.
Michael gave some hints on the upcoming third installment of the movie in the interview:
"Although the number of robots increased significantly from the first film for the second, the third film -- which will hit theaters this summer, won’t be as robot-heavy and there will be fewer explosions, a tight-lipped Bay said after the Q+A.
“There will be a nice crescendo ending,” Bay said. “It gets much more into the robot character. The last time you kind of met a few of the robots; this time you’re gonna get a much cooler landscape.”Check out the full article here:

So you want a Transformers movie with no explosions at all?
I think Bay actually listens to feedback and learns from his mistakes. I think TF3 will be great. Especially with the new writer.

Hey, where did I say I wanted no explosions? I was quoting what MB said and was pointing out that there is no way he would tone down the explosions.
Another thing worth noting is when he says
which will hit theaters this summer
.
Did he get the year wrong? I thought it was out next year.

Oh Bay... Please, please don't make another film.
They were fun an' all but the masturbation, the testicle jokes.. I don't know, man.
Could you just leave Transformers alone? Please?

Bay: "But I thought evreybody LOVED the leg humping robot."
I will put it this way...Wheelie not having a high squeeky voice and a diolog that always comes out in rhyme = win to me...even if he is a perverted little leg humper.

There will be only one explosion scene in the movie... but it will last 120 minutes.

"It gets much more into the robot character." - I'm filing that under 'too good to be true'. But if it is, awesome! Maybe TF3 will be the redeemer in the end and we'll only watch ROTF when really drunk. Although his statement about the third film hitting theaters this summer is a bit staggering. They might have a teaser trailer up by then but that's it . . . unless by 'fewer explosions' he means no explosions, robots or any VFX whatsoever. Yeah something is amiss.

LESS robots?!?!? Yea, that's what Transformers fans want.

I think TF3 should go the way of Spider Man 4: A complete re-boot.

We wanted Peter Cullen as Optimus and we got it. We wanted more robots and Optimus to kick some ass in the second movie and we got it. Now we want more character focus and we're getting that. And everyone still complains

Nobody wanted Devastator balls, John Tuturo's ass, dog and robot humping, plot made up as it went along, Sam's mom being a total whack job, Decepticon pretender being an slut, an hour of Leo Spitz....
ahem, I think you get my point.

As stupid as this may sound, some one DID ask for a robot humping Makayla's leg. It wasnt me, I saw it on some website

What he means is that TF 3 wont be a explionsiony as TF 2 was but dive deeper into the characters more and finish out the story. What he means on new scnenary gee I wonder what hasnt been done yet (CYBERTRON) we only saw a tid-bit of cybertron on the original film and that was just about 10 seconds of images in it I think that TF 3 we will see a whole lot more of Cybertron.
What he means on less robots is proabably what he done with the Kitchen Bots and such as seen in Revenge he probably means that they proabably wont be more crap like that in it.
So it seems like TF 3 will be alot of it in on Cybertron but what is the story about such as the plot device of the film.
Look I am ok with shrinking the number of the roster but not to much maybe 10 Autobots and 15 Decipticons would be cool along with 1 or 2 combiners and a Triple Changer such as Blitzwing, Astro Train or Springer.
But we need Ultramagnus, Hot Rod, Thundercracker, Lazerbeak, Shockwave, Tidal Wave, Hound, Mirage, Sunstreaker, Trail Breaker, Prowl, Wheel Jack, Cyclonus, Scourge, Perciptor as long as any of these old-school G1's are in TF 3 that is prime with me I just want a good conclusion in TF 3.
What needs to be fixed for TF 3:
1. No More Loop Holes
2. Bring the Transformers Home Eventually
3. Bring closure to the Sam/Mikalea Story
4. Newer bots & New Transformations
5. Classis = Better = G1
6. One Gigantic Final Battle to end All Battles if this is the End
7. Who survives & who Dies which one makes the Ultimate Sacrifice
8. Which bots choose to stay on Earth and which ones go back to Cybertron

Umm..... The massive amount of robots and the explosions is what made the 2nd movie great.... why mess that up for the 3rd movie? The cartoon took several seasons to develop "character" .... that can't be compressed into a 3 hour long movie... might as well just stick with nonstop awesome robot battles.

I don't mind less action scenes...you could cut out the pretender, Skorponok, Devastator, and the last film would still be action-packed. More character development would be good....but I'm scared they'll ruin the characters. I just hope they don't reveal anything about the characters that we don't need to know. All I want is a hardcore Optimus VS Megatron battle at this point I guess...like REALLY hardcore, and not where Megatron's minions do everything. The forest battle was great, but the only thing Megs did was shoot Prime once.

I think that the movies are awesome. I don't care for all of the junk that they throw in, but I really love the fights and the story. I cannot wait for TF3 and I hope it will be just as awesome as the others.
