I don't know who this person is, I've never been able to find out, but whoever they are, they're incredibly talented. For those of you who haven't seen this site before, you're in for a treat. Check out the other customs, some are just insanely awesome.

That Whirl is really snappy. I think that Blazemaster (?) mold is ugly, but man, with the right paint job and stuff, that makes a very nice look Whirl. Same with the A-Red Alert, in Roadbuster colors it looks much better than any previous versions.

What's sad is that Whirl will never see an official release from Hasbro. I'd buy it in a heartbeat if it did though. Geez, it's nice.

Never say never, I guess. It could happen, but I doubt it would look that nice. That custom one looks better than quite a lot of Hasbro figures that I've seen recently. I don't buy the ROTF figures, but walking sown the toy isle and browsing, I see lots of the newer Skids/Mudflaps with pretty sloppy paintjobs.

I'm not familiar with Blazemaster. Is that a different head on Whirl, or is it the one Blazemaster comes wearing?

Definitely a different head. Blazemaster's head is actually rather ugly.
As for the bad paint apps, it's not just ROTF. TRU exclusive Arcee and Ratchet are definitely "pick and choose" figures. Some were okay, some were good, some were awful. I'm still shocked by how many had crooked or incomplete tampographs and paint bleeds.

I haven;t seen the TRU exclusive Animated figures. I don't collect Animated, so it's real doubtful that I will hunt them down, and I don't remember the last time I saw Animated toys in the store, but I do remember seeing and/or reading that they had all kinds of paint troubles too. It's a shame really. All the money it takes to produce these toys and then somebody fumbles at the final stages.

Doesn't this belong in the toy thread/forum/whatever the heck it's called?
