Transformers 3 has begin the principal shooting and YouTube user benbrown666 has managed to record a short sequence where a Smart car being thrown along the back alley. According to YouTube benbrown666, the small Smart car is thrown away by the Autobots Twins - Skid and Mudflap.

However, from the shootforedit.com forum, Director Michael Bay just replied with following statement:

"The Twins are not back in T3. "

So are the twins out of Transformers 3 or just another misleading campaign by Michael Bay?

Let's just ignore any news article that quotes Michael Bay.

They really are the TF equivalent of Jar Jar Binks, an abomination that should never have been, maybe that means they will appear, but in some vague cameo style appearance, it's a good question, I suppose we'll just have to wait.

no more skids and mudflap? that right there will make this movie better than the last
and if they trash more smart cars it could help too

Of course they'll be back. If they're not, that'd be like Bay admitting he was wrong to have them in ROTF. And let's face it, that's not gonna happen.

I liked the twins too. Oh well, I didnt like them enough to put them in a sequel, but I dont think they're as bad as people think.

Well, he forgot about Barricade in ROTF so I guess its possible, but not probable.

Isn't this guy the ONLY source of false info on TF2? And we're believing him now ... why?

I felt they ruined ROTF for me.

They'll be in the third movie.

1.) I'll give the naysayers this much credit, when it comes to Bay: He lies his ass off in these misinformation campaigns. And, if he ever does end up telling the truth, it's simply due to a mistake, or miscommunication between him and his people.

2.) People have already sighted them on set (and considering they've shown us video proof of the Smart car being thrown around, why would they lie about the rest of the scene? I mean, c'mon....)

If anything, they might be killed off, early, in the film. Which would explain why he said they're not in the film, but that's all I can think of.

Otherwise, he's just lying through his teeth. Skids and Mudflap will be in 3, in some capacity. How long, where, when, and how remains to be seen, but they'll be there.

Barricade never returning, and never seeing his demise is just a terrible handling of the material, and yet one more I'll give the fans. I used to excuse it away as "Well, it's obvious that we're to assume that he was killed off camera in between movies and there's no point in going back to it, simply to move forward with his story." Not anymore. That's a really bad way to make a movie/story.

I watched the first one again, in Blu-Ray (amazing, btw), and it was just as bad as I remembered, even a bit more so. ROTF still wins it for me.

TF1 is just such a convoluted mess, the camera work still angers me to this day, and the robots were terribly underused. ROTF gave us plenty of robot screen time, more of a story, and even though not everything was explained, or we were expected to make the leap, we were able to do so in a reasonable manner because the second movie was laid out better and avoided being convoluted like the first one.

Too many loose threads to tie up in the first movie, and they weren't handled well. I think they could've focused on Sam meeting the Autobots better, and I think the military presence could've been far more serious. I think it should've been an E.T. meets boy/alien invasion film. It would've had more depth to it, more of a story, and no need for it to be convoluted.

I do like that humanity is telling the Autobots (and all robots, for that matter) to go home in the 3rd one. It's about time we had actual human interaction in this series. I'm glad they're finally getting to it, but I think THREE movies is not only a perfect example of wasted time and wasted chances, but shows that Hollywood can't write a movie to save their souls. They don't know their asses from a hole in the ground.

If they had take the E.T. story and replaced him with giant B.F.G. wielding robots, they could've done far better with the movie(s) than they have. That being said, I still enjoy ROTF. It's just a lot of fun.

Hmmm, I actually liked The Twins....and Jar-Jar actually, never really got all the hate against them.
But seriously:They are really BeastBox and SquawkTalk.
That one was kinda funny....

I don't mind if they bring the Twins back for TF3 so long as, this time around, instead of CAUSING the collateral damage the Twins ARE the collateral damage. The only redeeming point either of them had in TF2 was Mudflap calling Leo a pu**y.

I personally found that pretty stupid....
But Leo WAS horrible, if they're in part 3 I don't care, I'd just like the cooler guys to be focused on, ROTF only focused on them...

I did as well so for me to find that to be their only redeeming point lets you know just how much I think the twins sucked. Between them and Leo, the movie was drug down to toilet level humor aimed at a target audience around age 10. Seeing the Twins compressed into 3 X 3 metal cubes would absolutely make my day.

If they just changed the heads, they wouldn't bother me. At least they had some semblance of character.

It's Leo who must go or if he appears in TF 3, he dies horribly in the first scene under the heel of a Decepticon. Preferably alongside the Twins and Ironhide.

Actually, it's only going to be Skids and Mudflap. The movie is going to be them on a cross country trip to help Leo Spitz get laid.
