Nope.

I think everyone going into this film went in as a way to just get paid and apease Hasbro and Paramount for pushing this third film so fast. I think Shia, whose comments I thought were spot on about the sequel, is being used as a ploy to hype up the third film. However nothing he has said isn't what he usually says about any other films he's done this FX driven. The kids commited I'll give him that, but then again so is Nicholas Cage, and he's done some horrific work.

Shia is more notably there to address the large amount of negative feedback the 2nd film generated, and openly addressed it to set a false sense of assurance.

Honestly, I expect this Transformers ot be the Spiderman 3 of the series...if ROTF wasn't already Spiderman 3.

But yeah, no one was really excited to get this film on the way when they were addressed about it. Not even Bay, truth be told I think it's all about the money sadly.

I think that in acknowledging the negatives of ROTF, that is what will make them pay closer attention to what made the first film so good, and bring that feel to the third one.
