Fans will get to see DreamWorks/Paramount's Transformers a day earlier than was originally planned. The studio has moved up director Michael Bay's sci-fi action-adventure a day, from July 4 to July 3.

Just a few days ago, Warner Bros. moved Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix up two days from July 13 to July 11. Now Transformers gets the additional Tuesday to rake in more sales before the popular J.K. Rowling franchise returns to theaters.

On the other hand, the July 3rd release cuts into Fox's Live Free or Die Hard, which is set to open on June 27, just six days before Transformers.

So it's up against a new Die Hard movie (Which looks fantastic--HE HITS A HELICOPTER WITH A CAR!) and Harry "Insane Popularity" Potter.

You really gotta hope for this one.

Let's say there's 300,000 hardcore fans, which is probably a fair assumption.

And there's a moviegoing crowd of about 100,000,000.

3% of moviegoers will NOT make this a successful movie.

this movie is not going to flop, die hard has been watered down...none of the hardcore fan base is going to see it, an the people who are going to see harry potter werent going to see TF anyway

I always wait a couple days after a movie comes out to watch it. This movie won't be an exception.

I like how fans here think they got the release date pushed forward, but in reality you guys had nothing to do with it and its all nothing more than business and competition between the different film studios.

maybe so, but it makes people feel good to think that they have had some influence on something as large and mainstream as this movie, no need to take that away from anyone.

If I go see the TF movie it will be several days after the release date. I hate crowds...I am terrified of them. But harry potter and Die hard are out? that definately makes me wonder what to see.... I like harry potter and I have made a point of seeing those and we love die hard.

who says its been removed? Sounded like he was saying it in the trailer to me...

Oh and i'll take it away as much as i can, specially since we are getting shafted with the release date. You had nothing to do with its release date getting pushed forward, like i said its all just business.

it is being removed, i dont have the link, but it was confirmed by a producer or something...i didnt really pay attention to it because i dont plan on seeing it anyway..just thought it was a bad move.

but I know i had nothing to do with the release date...i didnt vote anywhere, i didnt email anyone, i didnt sign any petitions..but dont be bitter because you're "getting shafted" on the release date....its an american movie...you guys are lucky its even playing at all for you...

Why are we lucky that its playing for us at all? Since when has a big hollywood movie never been released in the uk?

You need to realize these movies arent just made for you and your own country, but they are made to make money worldwide!

What you just said is the biggest loadof crap i have ever heard!

Oh and if you was gettign shafted with the release date, youd be bitter too, so put yourself in my shoes or get over it.

the whole concept of being "lucky" or "grateful" for a movie is pretty silly to me. It would not make much difference to me if I see a movie or not, but in all fairness, I think the british folk should get a chance to see it at the same time as everyone else. Afterall, this is the modern age and things are quite quick. It does not take one or two months to cross the atlantic anymore.

I have a suggestion for you. Why don't you follow Michael Bay's advice and spread the word around the UK to get the release date earlier. Petitions, post flyers around London, spam UK forums etc...

Who knows, maybe the UK wants Harry Porter (read: Porter) to have a nice comfy cozy month....

dont get me wrong, i agree that everyone should get it at the same time(I hope that it does get pushed up for the rest of the world), but just because someone is getting something earlier than everyone else they are going to throw a fit? Thats childish and immature. The movie may have been designed to make money, but its still an american movie that doesnt have any obligation to be relased anywhere but america...it doesnt even have to be released here for that matter...everyone just needs to relax...we've waited what? 2 decades? 30 more days shouldnt be a problem...i do understand thats easy for me to say because I dont have to wait but realisticly...is it really THAT big a deal to you?

Hehe, Harry Pot-head, the wife loves those movies and she even convinced me to buy and sit through all four but i still dont rate them highly.

As for Bays "advice" heh, stupid idea, would cost too much money, and no one would give a crap anyway.

As i said these release dates have nothing to do with fans demanding things get released earlier, its all up to the film studios and nothing anyone says will change that. Remember the Star Trek Enterprise thing? They managed to gather a million bucks but the studio still wouldnt put it back on air.

What we say doesnt matter when theres hundreds of millions of bucks involved.
