The director was planning to shoot a car race or chase scene on the National Mall's gravel paths in Washington, DC, and to simulate explosions on Pennsylvania and Independence Avenues, reports The Washington Post.
The sequel's producers "have asked to do some things that simply are not done on the National Mall", according to Park Service spokesman Bill Line.
