Are ThereSeriously ANY Bayfans Out There?

I'm having a hard time finding a good amount of Transfans who actually like Michael Bay and the whole Movieverse. It seems everywhere I turn there's a protest asking for the termination of the franchise and/or the director. Are there any out there who appreciate the movie franchise? ANYONE???!!! Furthermore, (dare I say it) is there anyone who considers the Movie universe their favorite Transformers continuity? I feel alone here. I'm so sick of people telling me why I should hate the movieverse. In fact, a Bay basher told me today that he and his fellow Bay bashers take every chance they can get to criticize Bay fans when anything relating to the movies comes up. And before you ask, YES! The movieverse is in fact my favorite TF continuity. I apologize if you can't deal with that right now.

No worries, man. You have a fellow fan right here. As for my favorite universe? I don't know, Animated is pretty much it for me, but this is a solid second place.
I look at the Bayverse as it is, not what it should be. I find it to be fun, outlandish, ridiculous and entertaining. I'm not expecting it to be serious and downtrodden. I'm so glad it's not Dreamwave on the big screen. (I sure hope IDW has lighter stories, because Dreamwave just bored me and depressed me to tears.)
It's not perfect, but nothing is. It's been a great tool in bringing past, present, and future generations of fans together, and some of those fans are coming from outsiders who would've never given us a second glance. That's pretty cool and shouldn't be overlooked.
In about 5-10 years, people will look back on this era, fondly, and complain about whatever's current then.
It's a cycle, it's guaranteed to repeat. People can't help themselves.

Stop trying to make drama out of nothing. Just because people don't like something that you like, doesn't mean they have anything against you. The same goes for you.

I second what Blurrz said.
Furthermore, I don't consider the movie-verse bad, and Bay a bad director. My only 2 qualms with this continuity are some of the designs (Starscream, especially. FUUUUUUUUGLY!!!) and the story of RoTF. I think Paramount could have done a lot worse as far as casting and director, but a lot better regarding writers.
I dislike Bayhaters who bash Bay simply because it's popular to bash Bay. I like his other movies as well. Except Pearl Harbor. If you don't like a continuity, it's your opinion, but don't try cramming it down others' throats. And the people you mentioned are doing it just to get a rise out of people like you. You'd do well to ignore them.
So far, in my opinion, TF3 looks promising, and definitely a step up over RoTF. It may not completely save the trilogy or redeem the writers (as I said, Bay needs no redeeming, the action was mind-blowing in both movies) but it would at least give it a chance to end on a high note.
So, as far as Bay haters are concerned, don't worry yourself about it. Just try not to pay attention to them. I am mostly a G1 fan, though not a Gee Wunner, but I ignore anyone who labels me as such. I like what I like as far as toys, cartoons, comics, and continuities are concerned, and I don't let anyone else's opinions influence me. I am the one who enjoys them, not them.

I'm grateful for the live action movies as Transformers is more popular than it's ever been. Even things like War for Cybertron that old school fans rave over would never have happened if Bay hadn't proven to the world that was a profitable now as it was back in 1984. Perhaps more so since all old fans are grown up and have money to spend and kids we wish to turn into fans right along side us.
Ultimately if people don't care for this incarnation just ignore it till season changes. A new transformers series will crop up in due time.
Anyone who pulls the ruined forever card simply doesn't know what they're talking about. Transformers has been reinvented as many times as Madonna. Sometimes for the better , sometimes for the worse, but ever changing.
Every series to date(Besides Kissplayers) usually has atleast one cool idea or interesting take that sticks with the franchise into the future. (such as Beast Wars revamped the biological aspects of transformers. Animated has given the franchise Slipstream whom will from now on be the official evil girl.) Which has allowed the franchise to avoid total stagnation as some comic characters have gotten so bogged down in their own continuity. Sometimes a reboot is in order.
Bay is just an easy target to use as a punchline which he's willing even make himself parodies of himself as he does in the one version commerical.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lXRCf9LbLM0 I respect Bay since he never tries be something he isn't. He never wraps his work is this pretenciousness that critics just eat up. He's completely honest about what he does as he strives make fun movies where stuff blows up. He makes the movie he wants to make and never waivers. He doesn't worry about what critics think and the public keeps him employed.
Could he do more? Sure, but any movie I've seen of his has never been the crime against humanity the internet would have you believe. Which I fully expect see the web attack Dark of the moon soon as it comes out. (Moviebob is probably already storing up vemon....I mean writing his review now he has a title to mock since he already has made up his mind about Bay.) Which I ask why would they bother seeing the third film if they hated the first two? I guess they just need something to complain about more than they need their money. (or enjoy punishing themselves.)
I will be looking forward to Dark of the moon and watching stuff blow up with all other Decepticons I know.

I have nothing against Bay. He's done a pretty decent job.
The movies have their faults (as all TF iterations have I feel), but for the most part I enjoyed them. Favourite? Definitely not but I don't write it off.
Yes, there are a lot of haters. It's been that way since before the first movie came out. Like everything though, the negative people are always far more vocal. Positive people don't have much reason to speak up, negative people apparently do.
Just you know ... enjoy TF's and life YOUR way. Don't worry about what others feel.

I fail to see how the OP or Autobot32 were causing any drama, but i guess that just shows you how people percieve different posts.
Anyways, personaly, i love the Movieverse. Its the reason i came back to TF and the fandom. Is it perfect? Nope. But as Burn said, no series of the franchise is. Lately i've been noticing the the Bay haters seem to be really reaching for things to hate. And if their not, then they use the same arugument over and over. let them be. Because as much as they will never admit it, there still going to go see the movie opening day just like the rest of us.

I would not even be into TransFormers or like any non movie parts of it if not for the movies.
Favorite continuity for sure...but I like many others as well.
Guess I'll say more tomorrow, late Z_Z

A little while ago I made a calculation of all the fans of Bay's Transformers at Facebook. And the number was something like 4 500 000 people. Here you can see my old thread.:
viewtopic.php?f=44&t=67592&p=1100169#p1100169As you can see there are many fans of the movies. The problem is that you're not looking for the fans at the right place. This forum is mainly orientated at the TF toys and G1 animation series and it's understandable why so many people don't like him. At the other hand there are people (like me) who are not fans of the toys and the animation and just love the movies (they don't have expectations and prejudices).

Bay actually makes money and doesn't require a tax loop hole from Germany to break even. As much as people online bash Bay I dont think anyone geniunely is a huge fan of Uwe boll besides lampooning his work. I don't think you've watched Alone in the Dark(as reviewed here
http://thatguywiththeglasses.com/videol ... 1343-alone ) or some of Uwe Bowels(which is where all crap comes from.) ...I mean boll's work if you think that.
While Boll's movies are amusing to watch its not because of quality. It's usuually they're so bad that they re a load of fun mock with your friends. Bay actually has made films people like on their own merits. (Most people say the Rock is his best film.)You'd be hard pressed find to many people who defend anything Uwe Boll has done. (I suppose it's possible he has fanboys like anything else.)

The Rock is probably my pick of a bad bunch to be honest. Bolls movies are dirge, with a micro budget. Bay certainly gets the budget, yet the end product....

HOWEVER, hes makin Paramount tons of money so i dont thing we'll be gettin Aronofsky or Chris Nolan anytime soon.

It's pretty much the only TF stuff I've really enjoyed since the G1 days (comic and toyline not the cartoon). Many of the designs are among my favorite robot designs of all time (Prime, Bee, Starscream, Sideswipe, Ironhide, Jazz, Ratchet, Megatron, Barricade and tons of others) and some of the toys are easily my favorite Transformers figures (RotF Buster Prime, Bludgeon, Battle Blade Bee, 2007 Arcee, the HA line, Brawn, Mindwipe and so on). And while I accept flaws in the films I still love to watch them over and over. This is pretty much MY Transformers as all the rest in the past 20 years since the marvel stuff ended just didn't do it for me at all. I was pretty indifferent to RiD and Armada/Energon/Cybertron and found them easy to ignore. Beast Wars had some good writing but I found the CGI very ugly and the voice acting grating. Animated on the other hand I just can't tolerate. Watched the first six or seven episodes but found every single thing about it to be truly awful. I might give Prime a go but I haven't yet enjoyed a single TF tv show. Even the G1 cartoon I only watched cos I had the toys. The 1986 movie was enjoyable though and I thought had promise but then season 3 came along and turned Galvatron into a fruitcake and Grimlock into Barney and I safely retreated back to the Marvel comics where both of them and other characters were far more interesting for the most part and the stories usually more epic and dark and having great characters who either didn't appear in the cartoon (Carnivac, Bludgeon, Thunderwing for example) or weren't even TF's (Death's Head).
My TF figure collection is mostly of movieverse bots with only a few non-movie figures. Sold most of the Classics/Universe stuff I had since I just didn't like the majority of them at all, kept Rodimus and Voyager Prime cos they're truly the best all round versions of their G1 style selves in my opinion. Also I have a couple original G1 figures cos they held a special place in my childhood like Blaster (comic Blaster was very cool), PM Prime and Carnivac. Everything else though is moviebots. I find them the most interesting visually and I love realistic looking TF's and the design work on some of the toys to make them workable just really impresses me. RotF Leader Prime for example is just a work of art and makes me wonder how they made such an amazing job of a complex character design which works superbly in both robot and truck mode when they still can't seem to get G1 Prime's traditional (not classics) brick like design looking good in both modes. They seem to get the robot ok but then the truck mode always looks like crap.
I may buy Generations Darkmount and Thunderwing only cos of how well I remember them from the Marvel comics though I don't think these new toys look that great. Any 'con that's spent time as leader really should all be at least Voyager. 'cept maybe Ratbat

Rambled on a bit so uh yeah, wouldn't call myself a Bayfan as such (not keen on his other films) but certainly the movieverse is
my Transformers in my adulthood as Marvel US/UK comics were in my childhood. And I hope IDW keep making movie comics as I've really enjoyed them so far whereas I've found their G1 stuff to be a bit of a mess.

What I like about Bay is his inside-out knowledge of particular film types, and altho I waited a long time to admire him, I do now on a great level because he finally stood his ground against his clients and told them 3d is not the way to go.It's something I wanted to see him do ages ago, when I cared about what the films could be.Now I just accept them as they are, too.In fact, I don't own any of the films on DVD.
I am not a supporter of the notion that he 'knows how to blow stuff up' because it's his fx folks who do that, and I don't think much of the idea that there HAS to be a love story in the middle of every action film, tho I accept and enjoy the portrayal of Sam as a kid who is at the stage where it's time to start approaching girls seriously, and that his first Car is consequently one of his first avenues for this venture.

Wow didn't expect this many posts so soon. I was surprised to see a couple of you recognized Animated which to me has a majority of haters. I personally liked the toyline and voice acting, but not the story as much. Still glad to see Animated fans.
Also, few of you mentioned how the movies introduced you or brought you back to Transformers. This is also my story. I only bought about seven Tranformers figures/sets before the movie series was introduced. I have no idea what it is now, but definitely more than twice that. If it hadn't been the greatness of the movies, I'd be collecting God knows what. Having the movies bring me back is probably the reason why it is my favorite...or maybe because I like Camaros so much.

I enjoyed the movies personally.
I don't really get the Bay hate either, because what the movieverse does is make Transformers currant and more relevant to a modern mainstream cinema culture, however it still manages to pay homage to some of the classic concepts that made Transformers great in the first place.

I'm a huge fan of the movieverse, and as far as I'm concerned it ties with G1.
What you need to realise is that in every fandom, and I mean EVERY fandom, a good portion of the original fans might be hostile to change. You wouldn't know the Harry Potter fandom has a faction violently opposed to the film versions unless you dug deep in the fandom itself (lucky for me I know plenty of Potter fans).
Transformers has been around since the 80's, and in those decades since the fandom can fracture as the series changes and is rebooted over and over. Remember how the fandom exploded over Beast Wars being about animal themed Transformers and not vehicles? That series is a classic entry in the franchise now.
It's just a hot topic because Michael Bay draws the ire of the film critic establishment for not making "worthwhile" films (a subject strictly open to interpretation, mind you) and the Transformers fandom is prone to fracturing over change.

Oh yeah, I love animated! There was like a twist in every episode! And season 3 just was plain awesome. I mean some one died in every episode! And that was awesome to me! I was so pissed when it ended, and it didnt help that I missed the last episode! I saw it about a week later though. The Animated toyline is my favorite too.
