Amazon has a cover picture up for the Transformers Movie, which is the OP Profile we have been seeing on the movie posters. Also, across the top it says "Music From the Motion Picture."
Past experience says that this usually means a band compilation since there is no mention of "score."
Release date is still set at July 3.

I'd be willing to bet that there will be a score involved on the soundtrack. It there is music on a soundtrack that isn't in the movie it will usually say "Music Inspired by..." or something to that effect.

No content listing yet. I just hope this is mostly the score, not a bunch of songs.

I thought the soundtrack was supposed to be released on June 26. At least that's what I read somewhere here.
Cover looks good, though. Will definitely pick this up

What was the point of showing that cover? It really isn't any new artwork than what we have already seen. It's a square version of the Prime image only with words saying "Music from the motion picture."
Brig on the score. Don't want the stuff heard for .2 seconds in passing from a car driving past the camera to fit in a brief sound clip and then calling it part of the soundtrack...

Even if the bands are "okay" (i don't like them, but to each their own) I just wish the film were straight out scored like Gladiator or Star Wars, whatever.
I don't need to hear rotten MTV music while I'm trying to enjoy myself.

You normally don't put orchestration on a soundtrack for this kind of thing.
Though it would've been nicer.
*Repeatedly listens to the New Theme.*

On what kind of thing? If this is simply a "music from the movie" CD, then I will be inclined to agree with you, but if this is the actual "soundtrack", which I think applies to the movie score and all that, then I disagree, because they quite often have orchestration.
Here's hoping they have a seperate album for the score, rather than this lineup of bland and commonplace bands.

No one from the movie ever said anything about Stan Bush.
Stan Bush said "I'm writing a song and hopefully I can get it on the soundtrack because I'm broke and the royalty checks from "The Touch" just are what they used to be."
But seriously it was never confirmed that he had anything to do with the soundtrack. I'm curious to see what the Disturbed song is.

I know bush was never confirmed, and that it was just a rumour but still...

Sorry, but wikipedia is not a reliable source for anything. Though, this may very well be true. If it is, then there's more money I get to save by not buying this crap album!
I guess this does kinda support the theory that Stan Bush didn't get his track in. Bummer! I still want to hear it sometime though!
This cover could still be for either CD, if both are made. It does say "music" from the movie, not inspired or anything like that (I would find it hard to believe that each of those songs is in the movie). So who knows exactly what this means.
Bring on the music score CD! At least there's still something to hope for!

who is doing the score for the movie anyway? Bay usually uses Hanz Zimmer or Harry Gregson Williams but im not sure about this movie. I love them both so i hope one of them is doing the score.
