So yeah. I hated TF2, and for a while I was absolutely certain that TF3 would be teh w0r5t m0v13 3v3r (it was still my duty as a geek to see it, though), but now it actually looks pretty good!
So what do you think? Will TF3 be awesome or awful?
Btw, keep the ranting to a minimum about how awful TF2 was. Believe me, I know.

I think so, they listened to what everyone didn't like about the first one. Bad camera work, not enough focus on the Transformers themselves etc. Plus there's no writer's strike cramping production this time so I think everything will turn out great.

There is one guarantee for this movie:
S**TS GONNA BLOW UP!!!!!
and that it will be awesome. Why? It's a Transformer movie. As far as plot goes, it will probably be a bit deeper than RoTF, but it will still be simple. And that's good, i don't want a complex plot. i go to those movies to see giant robots kicking the crap out of eachother. Which is awesome.
So, yes.

Well, if it's no good as a film, we can just blame it on the critics for influencing people's decisions not to like it.
Nah, in all seriousness, I don't know. I'm really underwhelmed by the title Dark of the Moon. With ROTF it was possible to imagine the 'fallen' to be a defeated but returned Megatron before we knew waht the score was. This time it seems like Unicron could be the 'moon', or at least that's what people caps lock about around here. I can't honestly say that I trust Unicron to Bay/the live action movies crew. If it is him, maybe it'll be great, and I'll be wrong.
But, just like the first two films, I'm going to see it not expecting much of anything so as to lower my disappointment potential. I guess we'll just have to wait an see.

When I first at all saw the first movie's poster, I mistakened the Autobot symbol with the 'bots eye for The Matrix and was sure that the movie's gonna be a remake of '86 movie in Live-version.
When I discovered that it's gonna be nothing like the original movie, I briefly lost my faith in it. But after actually seeing the movie, it was great. My faith went back up and beyond.
When I saw the movie trailer for the second movie, i made a lot of predictions. I was thinking that the wheeled bot was Devastator and supposed that this shot would be somewhere in the end. Also, I tought that those protoforms falling everywhere, that some of them were an autobots. My only regret when watching it was the selection of my spot in the cinema. I actually enjoyed the movie. Really can't understand why so many despise the movie.
There hasn't been any trailers of DOTM yet, just few logo's and a poster. I heard rumours of Unicron being in The movie, but so far, there's no sign of him even being in the movie. But still, I think that this movie is also going to be great.

I sure hope so. It's supposed to have less comedy which is a good thing. I think I've had my fill of dog humping and fart jokes.

The only thing I have to say is don't tell the movie what should happen in it and get mad when you see it and it's different from what you thought it would be.

NO,everything points to a extremly large human cast. bigger than what we got in TF1 & TF2. more humans equal more screen time, plot & vocal lines stolen from the transformers.

No. reason is its being directed by a man who has failed/refused to see that his formula for these movies does not agree with the fan base or moviegoer and continues to walk down the wrong path even when other have told him so telling me he is to stubborn to change his views on something that isent his to piss on.

Box office takings refute your statement.
Not all of the fanbase disagrees with his style.
He's the director, he does it his way, not the way some fanboy wishes.
Will it be good? Night Raid said it best. Wait and see. No point jumping to conclusions yet.

Burn's answer + Night Raid's answer gives you the best explanation in my opinion. I can also back up Burn's statements. I bought box office tickets. More than half of my TF collection is movieverse. I consider is equally as good as G1. I'm very content.
Bay just prefers to do it
his way, not
your way. He does it the way
he personally thinks is best. That's all there is to it. Nothing more.

I think Dark of the Moon will be good, if not great. Now, even before I saw the first one, I knew it would turn out awesome, and of course it did. For ROTF, I really enjoyed it as much as the first, it's good, but not too good. When such a movie is hated for various reasons, I would prefer to think about the parts of the movie you like, and if there was a lot you liked about, then you ultimately like the movie. That's just my opinion however.

Well, it's not exactly Alpha Trion, but those words were very wisely said.
Respect.

Considering we have several months to wait and see, I wonder how many more threads we are going to see like this one. I tink I will bet on 35 more being started, but that is probably way low...

It will probably be a pile of garbage, but that won't stop me from watching it the day it comes out in theatres.

I agree mate, i'll take me and the kids to see it, but i wont let my guard down like i did the last time when Bay volleyed me in the nuts. Caution. Caution. Michael Bay movie. Caution.

I think it will. ROTF was panned by the critics. Even though it made money, no one likes bad reviews. So you can bet that Orci, Kurtzman, and Bay took what people complained about and improved on it. So when Michael Bay said that DOTM will be better than ROTF, I believe him.
